a man of the people. He is plain anu
unassuming but is endowed with a lull
supply o! good hard sense and mother

of giving the farmer a chance as we
have heard them say they now have'
the opportunity.

soon as the town was started he
m ved near Abilene and has been a
tanner ever since. Having no oppo-
nent for the position it is unnecessary

ind his a host of friends.
To such populists as are in tint
Darty because they had lost faithjin the
democratic papy because it seemed to
ihem that the men at the helm in na-
lona! matters were steering away irOm
old time democracy and to such as
have regard lor honest pol tics and
and principle we wish to say that there
seems to be a deal cu between the
populists and republican leaders.
Tne latest move seems to be to run
both populist and republican electors
and to do sine sharp trading at the
polls. Several of the papalist elec-
tors have already declared that they
will net vote for Bryan. Now will
you vote Lr such electors? Take
warning while ye may.
Gov. Culberson gets $10 a day out
of the state treasury to mike pol tical
speeches. Sentinel.
The above assertion is as ground
leos a lie as was ever uttered and vei
there are populists in Taylor county
who believe that whatever the Senti-
nel says is true and that whatever a
I. mucratic paper says is a he. But
nevertheless the Reporter is here to
denounce statements like this as a
ue. regardless ot consequences.
