A CAT IS A VICTIM OF
CIBCUMSTANTIAIi EVIDENCE
Former Senator Pugh of Alabama
practiced law for many years in Eu-
faula. A Eufaula man said of him the
oher day: "In an elegant speech on
circumstantial evidence I once heard
Senator Pugh drive home the danger
ofthis sort of evidence with a good
story. He gaM that a Eufaula woman
made ono of these corn pone puddings
for which the ladles of our state are

shelf to cool and then went to have
a dress fitted. Hor little son Jabez

tertained Tuesday Nov. 19th and that
is the -assistance of the ladies. News
comes this morning from the city to
the north that the ladles have already
made arrangements and are to play an
important part on the program. The
Stamford commercial club realizes
their superior ability in the art of mate
lng visitors feel at home and have a
good time and are to give them charge
of the Central West Texas boosters
during the time they are not In busi-
ness session. The only provisional
jlause is that they are not to interfere
with the business meeting and it Is a
good condition and the only way to
insure that the business will bctrans-
acted in proper form.
According to the arrangements an-
nounced there will be an informal re-
ception by the ladies from 9 to 9:50
in the morning and the boosters will
be the guests of the same charming
hosts during a drive over the city to
begin at one o'clock and followed by
a luncheon to bo served at the Stam-
ford Inn. The West ToxaB Newspaper
Association is to be organized on the
same date and we predict that every
