In the afternoon the first leo-
ture was on Parliamentary Law
by our townsman Rev. R. T.
.nanus wno is reoognized as
an authority on this subject.
Then oame Dr. Geo. W. Baines
of Alpine on
Hymnology and the Preachers.
He reoommended "Miller's
songs and singers of the ohuroh"
as the best .book on hymnology.
He mentioned several others;
among them was "Baptist Hymns
and Their Writers." Dr. Baines'
leoture was learned eloquent and
helpful. Evory pastor and ohuroh
member in the land ought to have
heard it or to have a ohanco to
read it.
Tho night service was held at
tho Baptist ohuroh Dr. Gillon
spoke again on '"New Testament
Evangelism." Tne audience was
a very decided increase over tho
one last night. The speaker in
his two preceding lectures had1
ovidontly won upon the hearts of
tho people. He was moro power-
ful and pathetio thandn eithor of
his other efforts.
Dr. Carvor is hore from tho
Theological Seminary and will
hold forth at the church tonight.
Go early if you want a seat.
Tho school opened on the first
day with moro than a hundred in
