Miss Virginia Lovelady became the
bride of Mr. Leman C. Foster of
Daingerfield the double ring cere-
mony being used.
The bride is the daughter of the
Rev. And Mrs. G. F. Lee of Linden
and was reared in this community
She finished the Public schools of
Marietta and was also a graduate
of the Naples High school. Recent
ly she has been at work in Linden
where her parents live. The groom
is the son of Mr. Edward Foster,
Dainge*field, and has recently been
discharged from the Air Corps.
He also is a graduate of the Na-
ples High school and had spent
three years in A. & M. college
prior to his entering the service.
Robert Lovelady, a brother of
the bride, and who has recently
been discharged acted as best man
and Miss Virginia Foster, a sister
of the groom, was maid of honor.
Mesds. Brown and Betts of Naples
sisters of the bride were also pre-
sent. These fine young people have
a host of friends who extend to
them their best wishes and con-
gratulations. For the present they
will be located in Texarkana.
We are glad to report that Mrs.
Horace Harty, who was operated
on a few days ago in a hospital
at Texarkana is doing fine and
expects to be at home in a few-
days.
Mrs. J. 0. Jolly is doing well
after having her tonsils removed
in Ellington Memorial hospital, At
lanta last week.
Mrs. Ola Franklin, who recently
lost her mother, has been suffering
from a very bad throat trouble for
several days. She is much improv-
ed at present time.
Adrain Floyd who has been over
seas for three years and four
months has just arrived with his
discharge. We are glad to have
you at home .again Adrain.
Dick Berry who has been in the
service for several years with most
of it spent overseas has arrived,
and he too, has a discharge.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Thompson
have moved i#to the Bohannan
home. We are glad to have them
remain in the community with us.
Mrs. Jimmie Aldridge has a word
from her husband that he is ex-
pected to be home by the end of
the year.
Aunt Fanny Wommack had her
eightieth birthday Saturday, She
enjoyed a birthday dinner Sunday
with most of her children and
grandchildren present in the home
of her daughter Mrs. Lemm Lof-
fer. Aunt Fannie is doing very
well at the present.
J. 0. Jolly, Jr., who has received
his discharge is entering Baylor
Univesity the first of December.
Mrs. S. E. Burgan of Lawton,
Oklahoma is visiting her mother
Mrs. M. F. Wommack for a few
days.
Mr. and Mrs. Monte Smith and
Mr. and Mrs. Fat Smith spent the
day Sunday in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. T. L. Smith.
We had a good crowd at church
Sunday and Sunday night. Glad to
have Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ingham
and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cox in
the services Sunday night.
We would like to take this op-
portunity to invite all of our ser-
vicemen who have returned home
to our services. We are always
glad to have you present. We feel
that the Lord has been good to
you in that you have been in the
service so long under trying cir-
cumstances and we have been
quite anxious about you. The
church through its committee tried
to send to each of you a little
news each month while you were
away as we thought you would
like to have such news. We re-
ceived many expressions of appreci
ation from so many of the boys
that we feel that you were glad
to get them. We want you to know
that your presence at the services
is 'very much desired. Come and
join us as we thank God for his
blessings on you.

We were glad to have so many
out for church and SS. Rev. Cart-
wright preached a good sermon.
We welcome Rev. Cartwright to
our church and was glad to have
i his parents Mr. and Mrs. Cart-
] wright of Texarkana come with
him. Come again!
The school sponsored a Thanks-
giving dinner at the school Wed-
nesday, Nov. 21. Everybody brot
well filled baskets and spread pic-
nic style. A short program was giv-
en by the school children and in
conclusion a prayer of Thanksgiv-
ing was offered by the Rev. John
Goodwin. We were glad to have
Rev. and Mrs. Goodwin from At-
lanta, and Mrs. Joe Z. Tower of
Wichita Falls.
Edward Powell came in Friday
from Europe on a 90 day furlough
after which he will return to Eur-
ope. How glad we are to have our
boys home.
Week end and Sunday visitors in
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Warren home
were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Swint
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Warren and
children, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin
Warren and daughter, Texarkana
Mrs. Jestine Jennings of Texar-
kana, spent Thanksgiving with
her parents Mr. and Mrs. H. L.
Hunt. Saturday visitors were Mr
and Mrs. Joe Crutcher and chil-
dren of Texarkana.
Mrs. Will Robinson and Mrs.
Austin Frost were Tuesday visi-
tors of Mrs. Alvis Rogers and Mrs
H. L. Hunt.
Fletcher McWaters of the army
in New Jersey, spent three days
leave, Friday-Sunday, with his
wife and daughter.
Misses Dorothy and Bernice
Brock were week end visitors of
their aunt Mrs. Jack Wall while
Jack is in South Texas deer hunt
ing. We hope he gets a deer.
Miss Margaret Wall of Texar-
kana, spent week end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carey Wall
Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClung of
Linden were Sunday visitors in
Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Rogers home.
Forest Shearin of the army in
the Pacific is home on discharge
Forest served 2 years or more in
Pacific. Glad he is home to stay.
We were glad to have three of
our ex-service menfe who have dis-
charges, and two service men at
church and SS Sunday.
Mrs. Jack Wall visited her par-
ents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brock at
Bryans Mill, Sunday.
There were other visitors in the
community Sunday but we did not
get their names. We would appre-
ciate you sending your news to
reporter.

bors with a short visit, Sunday

We are glad to see James Gil-
more of the U. S. Navy home on
leave after serving about two
years overseas.

husband in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
