To the Cheerleaders of TWC:
In,.rebuttal to last week's commentary by
the cheerleaders to thy-fjuns ^ml students of
! VVC, I Would like to express a few ob-
jections.
Those students who support our athletic
teams are there by choice and not because
they feel a sense of duty to attend the. school
functions. It is from this sincere desire to
support the teams that true spirit exists, not
in the ability to repeat senseless cheers or
scream as loud as one can.
Among the reasons why: students do not
follow along in cheers is because they are
mumblings of nonsense phrases to which no
one can see any meaning. Also, most of us
ye highly embarrassed when we do try to
show some enthusiasm in a cheer and then
are literally screamed at by sa-called ladies
who lack good sportsmanship. <
Basketball-is not the only sport in which
1VV C competes. I fail to see their argument
concerning spirit when they have - yet to
make an appearance at any" odier spOrt be-
-*;idfis baskjlball. To me, their attendance
record and team support ought to be "ques-
tioned before they pass judgment on others.

Income Security Act 15? 1974
Paripipants, Rebecca Estes Gray
Retirement Program
W. M. Pearce
Upon the advice of our actuaries, Hand nnd Associates of
Houston, Texas, and in compliance with the provisions of the
Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, this is to ad-
vise all participants in our retirement program that an Application
for Postponement has been filed with the Secretary of Labor, as
provided for in Section 414(b)(2) of Part 4, Title I of the Act,
which empowers the Secretary of Labor to postpone applicability
of cf^Prtiin of the fiduciary responsibilities contained in Sections
402, 403, 405, and 410(a) of the Act until not later than JanuarV
1, 1976.
Due to the late passage of the Act and the fact that regula-
tions affecting this section of the Act were not issued until
November 21, 1974, the extension of time permitted under the
Act and current regulations is being requested so that the Plan
Administrator, the Trustee, and other persons responsible for the
Plan benefits will have sufficient time to determine that the
provisions of our Plan comply with all details of the Employee
Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 with respect to fiduciary
responsibilities. Such postponement has been requested for a per-
iod of six (6) months only (until June 30, 1975). It will hot ad-
versely affect the interest of any Plan participants or beneficiaries.
