Hood's Texas Brigade will
hold its forty second annual ro
tniou an Temple, Texas, June
26th and 27th. Let me urge all
members to attend that we may
have the grandest reunion of all.
The .patriotic citizenship of Tem-
ple, headed by A. 8. Lemley,
Chairman of the local program
committee, are united in their
•ffort to arrange for the comfor-
table' and attractive entertain-
nvnt of the Brigade.
Reduced rates on the several
rail roads will bo given.
John II. Roberts,
I'res. Hood's Texas Brigade
Association.
The protracted meeting at the
Baptist church is progressing
splendidly. Nineteen additions
have been made to the church
up to last night, twelve by letter
and seven by experience. Rev.
Andrews, who is conducting the
meeting, is delivering some very
forceful sermons, which are up-
lifting and strengthening to
those who are already christians,
and very strong against sin and
its distinctive effects. Every-
body should turn out to hear
him.

Aug. 15th 1911, died .June 20th
1913, age twenty two months
and five days.
He was the darling of the home,
and lib ringing laugh and intel-
ligent appreciation of the atten-
tion of each membe;1 of the family
will long be remembered by those
who knew him.
Her vices were conducted by
Rev. J. T. Hooks, after which he
was laid away in the Linden
Cemetery to await the coining of
Him who 8aid, "Of such is the
Kingdom of heaven."
Dear little Reeves, you come but
to go;
Why did you visit this dark
world of woe?
You, like the birdies that come
in the spring,
Came with your brightness to
cheer and to sing,
Came as the dewdrops (hat fresh-
en the grass,
Cooling dry paths where the
weary feet pass,
Came like the beautiful sweet
scented flowers
With perfume of love pervaded
life's bowers.
Could it be that you came like
the birds and the dew,
And flowers that ever remind us
of you,
With your liltle life's message
to say to the heart,
"(let ready to meet me where
none ever part."
Baby'e Aunt,
Lena Whitvvorth.
Rev. E. R. Davis, pastor of the
Baptist church here, who has
been assisting in the protracted
meeting which is in progress had
to return to his home in Hughes
Spring Friday on account of
sickness. We trust he will soon
be at himself again.
Take Plenty of Time to Eat.
There is a saying that "rapid eating is
slow suicide." If you have formed the
habit of eating too rapidly you are most
likely suffering from indigestion or con-
stipation, which will result eventually
in serious illness unless corrected. Di-
gestion begins in the mouth. Food
should be thoroughly masticated and
insalivated. Then when yon have a full-
ness of the stomach or feel dull and
stupid after eating, take one of Cham-
berlain's Tablets. Mauy severe cases of
stomach trouble and constipation hns
been cures by the use of these tablets
They are easy to take and most agreeable

Bridal Shower.
Summer showers are ever wel-
come in Linden, and a very de-
lightful one was enjoyed 011 the
evening of June 1(?, when Mrs.
Osburne entertained for he? sis-
ter, Miss Clyde Wynn,lebt weeks
bride.
As the number of guests in-
creased so did the heap of dainty
wrapped packages on the Libra-
ry table. Each gift had with it
a little uote of fondness which
rendered them quite precious to
the bride elect, as well as the
wealth of house-bold linen and
pretty personal accessories with
which they were accompanied.
After the gifts had been passed
around aud admired by all, the
hostess, assisted by Miss Beruice
I lines, served cream and individ-
ual cakes. The remainder of Hie
evening was spent in dancing.
