ing the ball and then ripping off
Rains of 10 to 15 yards each time
ho carried it.
Starring on defense aRain for
the Wylie Pirates were Massoud,
Coomer, McCormick, Skipwlth,
Ross, Taylor ana Maynard. Es-
pecially should l-oses go out to
Maynard for the splendid defen-
sive game which he played until
the moment he was knocked out
of the game with a severe nose
injury. He failed to suit up for
thc final half of the the Rame.
And then Rowell was playing his
usual fine game when ho too had
to be substituted for when he
was injured.
Once or twice during the game
the Pirates showed signs of awak-
ening from their surprise at the
showing and power of this team,
but each time their thrusts were
ended by penalties or by inter-
ceptions. One particular pass
play from Massoud to Maynard
in the first half was particularly
outstanding and good for the
only first down Wylie made in
the game.
This next Friday night, the
Pirates journey to Frisco where
they will meet the football team
of that High School'. Frisco has
had quite a good season so far,
and the game is rated a push-
over for that team. However, the
Pirates will go there the under-
dogs, and might fool some of
those Frisco fans when they take
the field. We will all follow the
Pirates to the game, and be there
yelling for them win or lose, and
we have a hunch we might see
some changes made in the boys
and their attitudes this game.
