Suburban Growth in all Continent.
With the arrival of warm spring-
weather the advantages of the sub-
urbs are more noticeable and their
charm as places of residence grows
upon the city dwellers to an extent
that It results in the sale of many lots
or of acreages for homes and snbd.I-
visions. N'o one must be led into the error
of thinking that the population of Gxe
United States has arrived anywhere
near its maximum nor that the cities
of the United States have reached any
where near their greatest area or
their largest number of inhabitants.
The population of the country Is
.increasing rapidly and nothing is
more certain than that it continues
to increase all the while.
It is developed to a very limited
extent as compared with the develop-
ment that the future will bring and
everyone of our great cities duriag
the next twenty-five years will sure-
ly show enormous growth in popula-
tion and trade.
The electric railways the electric
lights the telephones and the auto
.vehicles are rapidly changing the
country districts into city suburbB
and it is but a span then of a few
years until those suburbs become a
part of the city itselt
This has been going on in the great
cities of Europe for centuries but
such rapid transformation in this
particular was never seen in any en-
tiro century as in the past twenty-five
years in London Paris Berlin Yien-
no Romo and St. Petersburg and in
scores of other European Asiatic and
in a number of African cities and
towns that could be named.
The values of lands in close prox-
imity to great cities are rapidly ris-
ingrising in a greater percentage
than either the lands in the cities
proper taking tho real estate of tho
entire city o nan average or acres in
tho strictly agricultural districts.
While the realty valuc3 aro steadi-
ly improving the acreage of the sub-
urbs soon to feel tho benefit of the
spreading wave of population distrib-
uting itself over a greater area. Is
sure to produce tho largest return
measured in percentage upon money
wisely invested. Cincinnati Inquirer
