Wylie Highlights

The varsity volleyball team
has had a rough year. After
coming from behind, the
ladies seemed to lose it all
Friday night and the Frisco
Coons once again walked off
the court with a win.
Traveling to Whitesboro
Tuesday, the freshman vol-
leyball team lost to the
Bearcats. The JV and varsity
teams, however, were
victorious. The varsity ladies'
last game is at 3 p.m.
Saturday in Wylie against
Lake Dallas.
After stealing from the
ladies Friday night, the Coons
robbed the Fighting Pirate
football team that same even-
ing.
But, on a better note, That
Wylie Band's Cotton Bowl
performance claimed a win
over Frisco, putting the
Coons back into their dens.
After their loss on Friday
night, the football team

Cheryl Ann Littlefield
Ginny and Phillip Littlefield,
Sachse, announce the arrival
of Cheryl Ann, born Oct. 18 at
Garland Memorial Hospital.
She weighed 8 lbs., 2 oz.
On hand to greet her was a
brother, Robert, 2. Grand-
parents are Patsy and Floyd
Littlefield, Sachse, and
Edward MacQuarrie, Jackson-
ville, FL.

Lara Shanae Pullin
Thomas and Shanarae
Pullin, Wylie, announce the
birth of their daughter, Lara
Shanae, on Oct. 7th at Wylie
Community Hospital. She
weighed 7 lbs., 4 ozs.
Naaman Forest Middle/High School observes Fifties Day as
shown by, left to right, Angela Comer, Garland; Angela
Hargrove, Sachse; Secretary Susan Gossett; and Amy Schild-
gen, Garland. Marking "Spirit Week," Thursday is designated
Green and White Day, and Friday, everyone will don costumes.
Monday was Western Day and Wednesday, Sweatshirt Day.

many other efforts of support

boosted the band members'
spirits before and after the
contest. TWB took third in the
Cotton Bowl, finishing behind
Waco Robinson and Com-
merce.
The cross country team
successfully competed in
Whitesboro on Saturday. The
team ran away with the dis-
trict title.
The first official "test bust-
er" pep rally went over with a
cheerl Underclassmen gather-
ed to focus on academic
excellence in an atmosphere
of excitement. Seniors, who
were in the cafeteria, voted
on the type of group picture
to be taken for the yearbook.
While TEAMS tests were
taken by underclassmen on
Tuesday and Wednesday,
seniors attended College and
Career Day seminars. Uni-
versities and colleges hosted
the mini-seminars on financial
aid and scholarships, along
with benefits offered at each
of the instiutions.
Birmingham School
To Observe Halloween
Birmingham Elementary
students will observe Freaky
Friday by parading and show-
ing their costumes to one
another at a designated time
which will not interfere with
studies, according to Principal
Joy Russell.

Mitchell Scott Murphy
Pat and Jackie Murphy,
Sachse, and daughter, Melis-
sa, 3, announce the arrival of
Mitchell Scott, who weighed 9
lbs., 5 1/4 oz., when he arrived
Oct. 6 at Garland Memorial
Hospital.
Grandparents are Jack and
Sonnie Scott, Madison, MS,
formerly of Sachse, and Maur-
