Funeral services were held
Monday at First Baptist
Church of Sachse for John
Floyd Stracener, 75, who died
at his home in Sachse

Saturday. Burial was at
Restland.
Stracener and his wife,
Marie, who survives, moved
to Sachse 22 years ago when
he retired from his position as
plant supervisor with Ford
Motor Company, where he
served some 37 years. He
worked several years as water
superintendent for the City of
Sachse and then held that
same position with the City of
Murphy for 12 years, where he
was employed at the time of
his death.
Stracener served in the
Army in Europe during World
War II in the 5llth Engineer
Light Pontoon Company.
Survivors include two
daughters, Sheila Cheatham
Dahlgren, VA, and Paulette
Smith, Lewisville; six
grandchildren; and one
great-grandson.
The Rev. Billy Harris was in
charge of the funeral service.

Semester exams are
looming over us this week,
then we'll have a holiday
rriday because of the
teachers' in-service day.
The gymnastics team will
hold its first meet this
Saturday at Rockwall. Raynee
Spicer is on the team.
The boys' freshman and
junior varsity basketball
teams won against Lakeview
but the varsity lost. Raynee is
°ne of the cheerleaders
cheering them on.
Karen Ramirez, Sachse, is
one of the players on the
girls varsity basketball team.
Although their season has
tailed to produce a winning
score so far, they have had
some close games.
