Funeral services for R. H.
(Robb) Horton, 81, who died at
his home at 314 Miller St., in At-
lanta at 4:30 p.m. Friday, were
held at 3 p. m. Saturday at the
Hanner Funeral Service Chapel
with the Rev. Wilson Wood offi
dating, assisted by the Rev. Roy

el Cemetery.
Mr. Horton , a retired farmer,
was born in Alabama, but had
lived in Texas most of his life.
Other than his wife, he is sur-
vived by one daughter, Sadie Hor
ton of Atlanta; one son, John H.
Horton of Gainesville, Texas; a
sister, Mrs. Myrtle Juell of Ida-
bel, Okla.; one brother, Hoyt Hor
ton of Merkel, Texas; a grandson,
Michael Horton of Gainesville.

Church of Linden under the di-
rection of Mrs. Roy Temple will
bring a Christmas message in
song. You are invited to be pres-
ent.
Members of the MYF of the
Members who do not have Secret
Pals will bring a gift to receive
a gift. The program committee
will have a nice program to en-
tertain you. Be there ! ! !
Mr. and Mrs. Roland DeJean
of Shreveport were Tuesday visi-
tors to her mother, Mrs. Alice
Coffman. On Wednesday after-
noon, Mi's. Lillie McCoy visited
Mrs. Coffman. Mrs. Alice Robert-
son and Mrs. W. E. McCoy vis-
ited Mrs. Coffman on Friday and
Saturday afternoons.

Mrs. Angie Belote, 77, died
Tuesday morning in a Vivian, La.,
hospital foiling a lingering illness.
Mrs. Belote was a native of
Alabama and came to Cass Coun-
ty as a child. She was a member
of the Good Exchange Baptist
Church.
Survivors include one daughter,
Mrs. Lorene Whatley of James-
town, La.; five sons, Jesse and
guests to her mother, Mrs. Inez. D

Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Slay of
Marysville, California arrived Sun
day to visit during the Holidays

Mrs. W. H. Blankenship fell
| Sunday and was carried by am-
! bulance to the hospital in Na-
ples for x-rays. We do not know
the extent of her injuries at re-
porting time.
The Quilting Club made a
beautiful quilt and gave to the
pastor, Bro. Bowden, last week.
Mrs. Nora Gibson arrived home
from a visit to Dallas last week
with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
J. C. Strickland. Mrs. Gibson has
not been feeling well, and will
spend this week with her sister,
Mrs. Ora Hawkins in Hughes
| Springs.
The Junior Sunday School
Class of Mrs. W. T. Walker's, and
Primary Class taught by Mrs.
Lawrence Hampton had a joint
Christmas party at the Communi-
ty Center Friday night. There
were 29 present to exchange
gifts from the tree.
Refreshments of chocolate and
cookies were served.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Hall
spent the weekend with their
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mark
Finch of Oxford, Miss.
Joe Earl Lowery of Hughes
Springs spent the weekend with
Dennis Earl Anthony.
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Eitel and
children of Texarkana visited
last Thursday with Mr. and Mrs.
J. O. Bobo.
The two children of Mr. and
Mrs. Don Betts have been ill all
week. Tenna had pneumonia and
was taken to the hospital for
treatment, but was brought
home..
The Billy Smiths got moved
Tuesday. The Moss family moved
below Ernest Hall's store.
