A Warm Welcome Awaits You At
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

LIFE
by ORAL ROBERTS
EVERYTHING GOD HAS IS YOURS
God has been dividing His
blessings with you and me since
the day we were born. The tal-
ents we possess were given us
by God.
One of the most fascinating
things about people is the dif-
ference in their talents. For
example, one man can repair
automobiles with the greatest
of skill, and it is a pleasure for
him. Another can play a musical
instrument without ever hav-
ing taken a music lesson in his
life. One man can speak in
public; another can use his
hands—how wonderful are
these gifts.
How God divides with us
His blessings, His providences!
Everyone of us can look at the
blessings in our lives and say,
"This is what God did for me."
Some of us are so materialis-
tic that we put more value on
things than we do on life. We
think it's more important to
recover a lost automobile or a
lost piece of property than to
recover a lost soul!
How many of us put things
ahead of salvation? A man may
lose a hundred dollars. If he
lives, he can get another hun-
dred dollars. But if he loses
his soul for eternity, he can
never recapture it. Nothing is
so important as a soul.
God has everything we need,
and then some. Everything God
has is ours. Did you know that
the Bible says, "My God shall
supply all your need according
to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus"? Think of your needs.
You may need a new house,
an automobile, money to pay
your bills, a new suit of clothes.
The Bible says that God will
supply your needs.
Do you know how rich God
is? He hangs solid pearls for the
gates of His city. The walls
are of jasper; the foundations
are all manner of precious
stones, and the streets are of
purest gold. God isn't poor.
Take your little need and stand
it up beside Heaven and all the
riches of God. You can then
realize how easy it is for God
to supply your needs. Ho has
plenty of everything and to
spare!
Many people secretly resent
God because they feel He has
never performed a miracle in
their lives.
Have you ever asked for
one? Have you ever expected
God to take a hand in your life?
Have you sought the Lord?
Have you read His Holy Word?
Have you conformed your life
to His will? Thousands never
receive anything of significance
from God, because they expect
nothing.
James said, "Ye have not,
because ye ask not" (James
4:2).
The Word of God teaches us
to ask largely. Expect the
blessings of God. Everything

Ye are the salt of the earth;
but if the salt have lost his savor,
wherewith shall it be salted? It is
thenceforth good for nothing, but
to be cast out, and to be trodden
under foot of men. Matt. 5:13
To know that they were "the
salt of the earth," encouraged the
disciples under a4i their suffer-
ings. Even though they were
treated with scorn, they were a
blessing to the world. The pro-
phets, who went before them,
were the salt of the land of
Canaan; but the disciples were
the salt of "the whole earth," for
they must "go into all the world
to preach the gospel."
The doctrine of the gospel is
like salt! How? It is penetrating,
it is quick, it is powerful, Heb.
4:12, it is cleansing, it is relishing,
and it reaches the heart.
Let's look into our own hearts
and ask ourselves, "What kind of
Christian am I?" Am I seasoned
with the salt of the gospel and
with the salt of grace? Are my
thoughts and affections, my words
and actions all seasoned with
grace? If we do not have "salt
in ourselves," we cannot share it
with others. If Christians are
really a blessing to the world,
they must not only BE good but
DO good—by their lives and by
the doctrine they teach they must
.season the world of mankind with
the knowledge and grace of
Christ.
But what of the Christian who
has lost his savor? His condition
is sad indeed. True Christianity
will give a man a relish; but if
a man can take up and continue
the profession of Christianity and
still remain flat and foolish and
graceless and insipid, no other
doctrine, no other means can be
used to make him savory. He is
"unprofitable, good for nothing
but to be cast out and to be
trodden under foot of men."

Soviet Russia, practicing dip-
lomacy by threat, has warned the
United States that unless we a-
bide by Kremlin dictates in regard
to our national conduct, rockets
will descend upon our land and
destroy our cities.
Regardless of the name given
to our relations with Soviet Rus-
sia today, either through diplo-
matic channels or for political
purposes, the fact is that we are
definitely at war with that nation.
Our planes are shot down; the
soverignty of our country and its
borders is violated with impunity;
our freedom of action in the con-
duct of the affairs of state in
respect to those who insult us is
challanged by an enemy seeking
to gain a foothold and establish
a base in the Western hemisphere.
To further their ends, the Soviets
endeavor to intimidate us through
threats of reprisals, menacing us
with their nuclear weapons.
For far too long we have en-
deavored to placate Moscow thr-
ough appeasement and the result
has been to embolden the evil
men in the Kremlin to step up
their attacks upon us. The im-
pression is growing that they can
blackmail us at will by threaten-
ing us with destruction by roc-
kets. Unfortunately, the ultimate
consequence of our failure to
clared He would have war from annihilation,
generation to generation with
those who had raised their hand
against His throne and eventually
all rememberance of them would
be utterly destroyed (Ex. 17: 8-16).
Descendants of these ancient
enemies are today in control in
the Kremlin. We must, therefore,
resolutely face all threats issued
against us by the enemies of God
and His Kingdom and, in the
Name of Jehovah, the God of
Israel, stand our ground, for if
we are under Divine protection,
we need not fear them, their
threats, nor their evil intentions.
God has promised that when we
comply with required conditions,
He will go into battle with us
against our foes.
In the first place we are to
remember what we have for-
gotten as a nation, that we must
perform the task which was given
us to do in the inception of our
selection as God's servant people;
"That' thou shalt blot out the
rememberance of Amalek from
under heaven; thou shalt not
forget it." (Deut. 25:19).
There is, however, one proviso
which is absolutely essential in
order to secure the assurance our
nation must have of the actuality
of the promised protection and
of the presence of the Lord in
the battle against the foes of
righteousness. That is the neces-
sity to turn to the Lord our God
with all our hearts, asking for-
giveness for our national way-
wardness and pledging obedience
to His will, for only through our
own righteousness as a nation can
^ve ask for and obtain Divine help
in this time of great need. Other-
wise, as decreed by God, His peo-
ple will not be able to stand be-
fore their enemies due to the fact
that "there is sin in the camp."
Our nation today is indeed sin-
ful. We are violating the com-
mandments, statutes and judge-
ments of the Law of the Lord. We
are disobeying the Law of Sab-
baths and encouraging the in-
crease in violence and crime in
our land through the failure to
execute justice and judgement in
accordance with the requirements
of the La\y of the Lord where the
criminal is concerned
Because of all this that con-
tributes to our unrighteousness as
a nation, we cringe when the en-
emy threatens and we become
fearful when we ought to be able
to speak out firmly from a posi-
tion of strength. As a nation we
have no assurance of the Lord's
presence among us and therefore
courage is at a premium and
shortsighted expediency, rather
than conviction born of a know-
ledge of the Lord's purposes, in-
fluences our every move and mo-
tivates all of our decisions.
Because the people themselves
