giveth thee" (Deut. 28:3-8).
However, if we will not hearken
to His voice, to keep His com-
mandments, a long list of troubles
will result, reversing the above
mentioned blessings of prosperity.
Among them is the following:
"And thy heaven that is over
thy head shall be brass, and the
earth that is under thee shall be

(Ps. 104:10-14).
In this day when men and wo-
men enjoy the use of the pro-
ducts of a civilization that has
made marvelous progress in the
fabrication of all types of devices,
multitudes have forgotten how de-
pendent the human race is upon
the orderly cycle of seedtime and
-ymbols straggling up and down
the lines of the stall.
So it is not strange that we find
symbolism in religion. We find it
of course in the words that are
used in the worship. And also
there are certain forms and cere-
monies that are rich in meaning
tc the informed believer.
There is a danger in symbolism
that we should be careful to avoid.
We must not take the symbol for
the thing itself. It will profit you
nothing to recite the words of an
unknown tongue. But with the
symbols of faith you may build a
temple on which himself may see
fit to abide.
