PACT TBRSB
fend itself."
jt- it seems appropriate to con-
clude with a vital statement by
Mrs Webster After linking pre-
sent evils to the cult of Satan,
she says: "Christianity is a be-
leaguered citadel surrounded by
the dark forces which have mus-
tered for the supreme onslought.
Only in one way can it be with-
stood. The words of Joseph de
Maistre, who, like Barruel, regard-
ed the French Revolution merely
as the first stage in the cam-
paign, must be taken as the
battle-cry of the White Army to-
- day: 'The French Revolution is
Satanic in its principle and can
be only really killed, exterminat-
ed, and finished by the countrary
principle.' The Christian principle
—that is the force that must be
opposed to the Satanic power of
the World Revolution."

NEW I YEA?
19,
Boys and girls,
win a free trip
Boys and girls, would you like
a free vacation in Colorado?
Picture yourself riding to the
top of Pike's Peak on the cog rail-
way . . . climbing a mountian to
throw snowballs in July . . . cat-
ching speckled trout . . . snapping
pictures in a scenic wonderland!
Such a trip is the top prize in
The Fort Worth Press' Save the
Soil and Save Texas Conservation
essay contest.
Who can enter? You can if
you live in Texas, are 19 or under.
This is an open contest for boys
and girls, in or out of school but
not high school graduates.
Here's how:
Learn .about soil and water con-
servation from soil conservation
district supervisors or cooperators,
farmers, ranchers. Then write an
essay, 300 words or less on . . .
"Conservation . . . Who Is Res-
ponsible?"
Please include your name, ad-
dress, school, name and number of
your local conservation district.
There'll be many trophies and
medals for regional winners.
The Staked Plains Soil Conser-
vation District is sponsoring a
contest for local students and will
award prizes of $15, $10 and $5
for the three best essays written
by Claude school students. All es-
says will then be forwarded to
the Fort Worth Press for judging
on regional and state level.
Everyone is urged to enter. Es-
says may be submitted to the Soil
Conservation Service office in
Claude or to Carlos Roberts, high
school principal, on or before Jan.
15, 1960.
The money for the local awards
is donated by Roach and Bumpus,
conservation contractors, Panhan-
dle, Texas.
Further information concerning
details of the contest may be ob-
tained through the local Soil Con-
servation Service office.
Harold Gist Post of the Ameri-
can Legion has hospital beds,
wheel-chairs, and crutches avail-
able for local citizens if and
when needed. Dale Irby will check
them out for you when needed.
It's the little things along with
the expensive things in life that
a woman appreciates.
Thanks for the news this week.
