Colts
The football boys would like to
congratulate the cheerleaders and
the Pep Squad for the nice job
they did in leading the boys on
to victory this football season.
One comment from a football
boy, "Coach says you're not sup-
posed to hear anything when you

Versatile Fruit
Apples are versatile, inexpen-
sive and filled with vitamins ansl
minerals. You can cool sliced ap-

chopped fine, to turkey and
chicken dressing. Slice apples for
a sweet potato casserole or chop,

get out on that field, but we could
nearly always hear them cheer-
ing for us."
Quote from Mrs. Wooldridge, "I
have thoroughly enjoyed working
with the girls this year."
Keith Cay ton, our highest scor-
er, has something to say now,
"We won our last game so that
puts us in second place. We've
won four games and lost three.
Our last game Coach suited up
every boy on the team and as far
as I know, every single one of
them got to play."
For the Colt's last football game
the cheerleaders had a well or-
ganized Pep Rally. Since it was
the Friday before Halloween, four
witches flew in to give our boys
some bravery-brew. The Pep Rally
ended with the girls singing,
"Cheer, Cheer, for Claude Junior
High." The brew tasted awful,
but it sure seemed to help, says
some.
First Grade
Mrs. Hood's room has a new
boy. He is Ricky House. Ricky has
a twin sister in Mrs. Chandler's
room. There are 18 children in
Mrs. Hood's room now.
The class is progressing on sch-
dule. The children have finished
the readiness program and are
reading their first preprimer.
Second Grade, Sec. I
The Second Grade in Section I
has been studying about 'Autumn"
in science. We have learned that
there are many different kinds of
trees and other plants in our com-
munity. We can recognize many
kinds of trees. We made leaf
prints and drew pictures of fall
trees.
Third Grade
The Third Grade is going to
present a Thanksgiving play for
the Mothers Club, entitled, "Pre-
sent at the First Thanksgiving,"
on Tuesday, the 10th of November,
at 2:15 p.m.

Fourth Grade
We have elected officers. They
are: President, Lynette English;
Vice President, Brenda Brady;
Reporter, Ross Bagwell; Secretary,
Eddie Stephenson and Sgt-at-
Arms, Robert Campbell.
We are getting ready to study
about South America.
We are now studying on our
arithmetic facts of four and frac-
tions and long division.
We are reading in two basic
readers now. In our weekly read-
ers we are studying about the
Olympics. In science we are study-
ing about insects and other small
animals.
Some films we have seen recent-
ly are: 1. Pioneers of the Plains;
2. Boatsman of the Frontier; 3.
Little Smokey; 4. Mexican Child-
ren; 5. Peru; 6. Planters of Colo-
nial Virginia; 7. Vacation Wonder-
land; 8. Location Niagra; 9. Colo-
nial Children; 10. You and Your
Bicycle. Mrs. Garrison came and
showed us some films about Yel-
lowstone National Park and the
Bad Lands of South Dakota.
On Oct. 4, 1964, Robert Camp-
bell's mother gave a party for the
Fourth Grade. We enjoyed it very
much and we would also like to
thank Mrs. Campbell very much..
We have a new pupil in our
class. Her name is Paula Clingen-
peel.—Your Fourth Grade Repor-
ters, Lin Cope and Ross Bagwell.
Fifth Grade
The Fifth Grade is now study-
ing the South Central States in
geography. We are most interest-
ed in this group because our state,
'Texas," is included in this selec-
tion of states.
We are studying wildlife in
science. We had a film on the
"True Story of Smokey the Bear."
It was a very good film and I
think it will help us to be more
careful with fires.
We are having a review in
health. We are studying digestion
and the names of our teeth, what
they do and how many there
are. We have had tests over these
things. Everybody is enjoying
school and having lots of fun.—
Your reporter, Debra Goodin.
