For the past 16 years the F. A.
Huwielers have been not only in-
terested spectators of the growth
of the Southwestern section, but
they have also been important con
tributors to its civic and cultura
development. They have lived ir
the same home at 6642 Rutgers
since shortly after West Univer

Mrs. Huwieler, Afton to hei

She is particularly known for he
work with garden clubs of the sec

president of the Texas Garden
Clubs, Inc., she has been nominated
for the office of president in the
forthcoming April elections. She is
a charter member and past presi
dent of both the Garden Club of
West University and the Garden
Study Club. As one of the two
tional garden judges in Houston,
she frequently is called on to judge
both artistic arrangements and
horticulture exhibits. Gardening
naturally one of Mrs. Huwiele
chief hobbies, but she also finds
time in her busy life for painting
and bridge.
