Albany Good Roads Boosters
Headed for Wichita Fab
Tuesday afternoon a big bunch
of Albany's good roads boosters,
some ten or fifteen strong, gol
aboard their cars and headed for
V\ ichila Falls to attend the good
roads meeting scheduled for
August 2!Hh and 30th. The
bunch was loaded to the guards
with banners, literature, badges,
and enthusiasm, and they have
gone after another great high-
way, viz: The Southern branch
of the Ozark Trail. That will
give us seven highways, and
still others to follow. The Al-

Party for Miss Gussie Price
Mrs. L. S. Hollo well and Mi3
Gladys Sedwick gave one of the
most delightful of the season's
parties, Wednesday afternoon,
at the beautiful suburban home
of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Sed-
wick. The occasion was a mis-
cellaneous shower, honoring Miss
Gussie Price, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. N. R. Price of Albany,
who, on September fourth, writ-
he married to Mr. Nicholas S.
Holland.
The guests, assembling at 3:30,
were greeted by the cordial host-
esses. Also, in the receiving
line, were Mrs. Price, Miss Price
and the honoree.
Bridge and forty-two tables
were arranged for thoee who
wished to engage in these pop-
ular diversions, while the pleas-
ures of the afternoon were oth-
erwise augmented by social con-
versation, knitting, and pleasing
Victrola selections. In the bridge
games Mrs. W. H. Cook won
high score, and in a cut for the
forty-two prize, Mrs. S. S. Diller
was the winner. Both ladies
were presented with beautiful
hand-painted sandwich plates,
w hich they graciously presented
to the honoree.
The guests after being re-
freshed with delicious pineapple
sherbet and cake, were invited
into the dining room, where lit-
tle Misses Vernon Webb and
Beth Hollowell, dressed as pick-
aninnies, brought in a large
clothes basket, presenting it to
Miss Price. Donning an apron,
the pockets of which were filled*
