Two unidentified men wearing dark-colored suits and bowler hats are standing on the right side of the photograph. The image accompanied a written speech, with the caption: "[J. M. Dean] then obtained the county records from Ft. Davis and moved them to Marfa because he felt the prestige of Marfa's being the county seat would increase the value of his land" (p. 6).
