Banquet Theme
La Fiesta was the theme of the
annual banquet given by the mem-
bers of the juiiioi class of Albany
high school Saturday evening hon-
oring the sen;olk.
The setting #a- in the school
gymnasium winch represented a
Mexican patio "South of the Hor-
der." The arched gateway flank-
ed by large yello* urns and yucca
furnished the entrance into the
patio th.ouith t'le picket fence en
twined with vines, and red and
white honeysuckle. I he high wall
on the left was topped with a
similar fence along which were
trees, vines and flowers, with a
central arrangement of ivy
I balloons reaching the floor. Center
] of the enclosure opposite was a
Spanish balcony with red curtains
and a scalloped green and white

Benches around the patio held
displays of pottery, baskets, lac-
quer trays, jugs and miniature
lloating gardens.
Also reflecting the chosen theme
the niozas, who were -ophomore
girls, were in distinctive colorful
costumes with full faldas and ca
inisas of white, embroidered in
Mexican designs, red and green
zapatilla- and red roses in their
hair.
The niozas were Hetty Baker,
Shirley Taylor, Ann Hauman, Het-

STEPHENVILLE.—Gene Maul-
din, a general agriculture major
at John Tarleton Agricultural col-
lege, has recently completed his
duties as general secretary of the
Tarleton Kodeo association for
this year.
Gene helped to put on the sec-
ond all-Tarleton rodeo; his efforts
in working with the (ollege offic
ials was a big factor in the success
of the spring rodeo.
Gene is fast becoming one of the
best known amateur rodeo hands
in this section of Texas.
Henry D. Lawrence, a petrol
euro engineering major at John
Tarleton, has recently completed
his duties as president of the col-
lege rodeo association for this
year.
