'W> Science Project:
Creative Piece of
Work"
Vanessa Kenon
As I sat'In my office
last Friday morning
mulling through the
stack of press kits of
summer film releases
I've rccchvd over the
last two weeks, . I
found It extremely dif-
ficult to make a choice
of which film to view.
So I decided to go to
the local motif listing
and make a choice a-
mongst the many low*
budget films that are
being offered in our
city in hopes of find'
Ing a winner, t didn't
do too badly, '
I picked inn a film
the many science fic-
tion releases iliis week
called "My Si lence Pru.

that it was a sur/> rising*

would probably be the
best way to describe
the idea behind this
film that stars John'
Stockwell as a high
school senior who's a
wii with a car but Is
stumped when It
comes down to Invent-
ing a project for his
final grade In sclnece,
Stockwell appears
doomed to fall science
until he stumbles upon
the engine of a UFO
buried In an old aban-
doned Air Force base:
The engine seems right
up Stock well's line of
expertise until he fires
It up, and the world
around him suddenly
becomes electrifying.
The film's ideas and
storyline are truly
creative, Jo say the
least. Scenes like the
trip through time in
the local high school
an fun and exciting.
And the special effects
including dolby stereo,
only add to the excite-
ment and realism of
the film.
The younger tie*
ments of the cast kgve
quite a way to go In

but that takes nothing
away from a pretty

As things now stand,
there's no telling;
when the book will be
published. I'm told
that no work is beinj,

manuscript this spring.
I'm also told that, even
if its contents were
beefed up so that it
had more substance
and less fluff, it
wouldn't be rushed in-
to print. It seems
