Tom Perrett writes: "They" got me confused with Paul
Buell in the March HCN. Perrett wishes he had Buell's hair.
I'm in the gun ring with Muscles. The bottom row are Paul
Buell, Bob Kampling and Glen Toy. Tom and Shirley went to
the mini reunion in Jan. at Pebbles Restaurant in Orlando, FL.
He and Shirley went home with Bill and Dolly Kisler in Ocala,
FL, for two nights with lots of card playing and a lovely time.

again next year.
We have already reported the death of Frank LaBoda, Sr.
Sally LaBoda Dahl, 916 Green Bay Road, Kenosha, WI 53144,
sent a picture of her father. The HCN had an article about the
Devil's Paradise, a bar that LaBoda ran in Ellwangen, Ger-
many, after the war. That article reunited her father with
Norman Bruneau who shared war time stories and photos with
Frank. Sally writes that, "We are grateful that my father
could belong to your association. He was a wonderful man and
will be missed very much."
Bill Kisler [C] reports that the mini reunion was a good
meeting. Fifty-one reservations but there were some "no
shows" who did not cancel. He requests that the Hellcats be
considerate and cancel when necessary. Jeep Camarata and
Betty [HQ] had two guests, Mike and Eleanor Merando.
Harvey Sutton [C-134] was disappointed at not seeing
Delbert Salzer [HQ-134] and several other guys and gals were
disappointed at not seeing old buddies and friends. One cele-
brity couple was present. Mr. and Mrs. 12 ADA Quarter-
master, Harold and Betty Schenck [A-92] of Ocanum, Ohio.
They are wintering in the sunshine state.
Ed Domanoski [F-92] must attend more 12 ADA functions
than anybody else and was headed for New York State for the
Northwestern chapter.
Lou and Eleanor Forenza [A] did a bang up job, having a big
WELCOME 12th ARM'D DIV. sign, had bottles of cham-
paign for drawings. Dolly, Bill's wife of 47 years, made little
pots of azaleas for drawings. Bill ended his letter with an Irish
prayer for me.
Fran Nicholson [B], 4230-14th st., Rock Island, IL 61201,
remembers Christmas 1945: "Nic" had just been discharged
from the service at Ft. Knox, KY. We visited family and then
Nic wanted us to be alone. Went to Chicago without reserva-
tions and due to a large convention, we could not get a room
downtown. Nic took me to the Edgewater Beach Hotel, the
largest and most elegant hotel in the midwest. The suite was a
large living room, dining room, two bed rooms, kitchen and
two baths. The living room had 11 lamps (I counted them),
plus any number of table lamps, and five long couches. We
enjoyed the lake view, giggled and laughed, turned on all the
lamps, set on all the couches and chairs, tossed the sofa pillows
around, played chase through all the rooms and were happy
kids again.
We dressed for dinner and I wore my new black dress with
sequins and Nic looked so elegant in his new civilian suit. I had
a pink "glamellia." We dined, danced and fell in love all over
again.
The next morning we drove back downtown, ate Wimpy's
hamburgers (all we could afford after spending a whopping
$30.00 for our rooms at the Edgewater Beach - downtown
rooms were $3.00 or $4.00).
This was the best trip we ever had to Chicago.
My deceased husband, Charles C. Nicholson [B], was one of
the original cadremen from the 8th Armored from Ft. Knox.
Fran's letter will be sent to ACU for personal experiences of
the wives in WWII.
Turkey hunter George O'Bryan has checked in. (He found a
