PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
I am happy to report that Dr. Money, President of Abilene
Christian University, has signed the letter of agreement developed
by him and in conjunction with our Liaison and Executive Com-
mittees. This letter appears elsewhere in this issue.
We are not in a GO situation as we now have arranged a pro-
cedure should ACU ever decide not to continue with the 12th
Armored Division Project. The thrust of this agreement is that the
Project will always be kept intact, as one unit, and that our Associa-
tion, or its successor, will have to approve another depository.
My thanks to Dr. Money and to Provost, Dr. VanRheenen, and
Dean, Dr. Durrington, for their cooperation and support. Much
appreciated! Dr. Vernon Williams returned to the ACU campus in
time to be the bearer of this good news. I sincerely hope that his
meetings across the country, from California to Florida, Cincinnati
and Washington D.C., will prove to be fruitful in obtaining the
necessary funds that will make the museum a reality. If effort equals
results, I have no doubt that we are looking toward a successful
conclusion.
It is now time for each of us, with the very best of our ability, to
support the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum Project.
Send your contribution NOW to Dr. Vernon Williams at ACU
Station, Box 28130, Abilene, TX, with your check made payable to
the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum Drive. You, your
children, and your grandchildren will be pleased that you did.
Your President and his wife Estelle will be out of the country for
three weeks from the third week of April to the second week of
May. Our mission is to visit my younger brother in London,
England. He has been ill for some time and recently been put on 24
oxygen support. It has been a number of years since we last saw
him, therefore it is important that we take this time for this mission.
Our Executive Secretary has all the necessary information should I
have to be contacted.
On Memorial Day, please do not forget the comrades we left
behind as well as those who recently left us. Although the calendar
reads May 25,1 still reserve May 30 for this observance.
Until next time, Ted.

Received a telephone call from Ina Robinson (Clyde [C]). She
said she had received several telephone calls from people when they
read the info that Clyde had died. In some fashion or other I failed
to list her as the spouse in the notice of his death. I told her she
could strike me with a cat-o-nine tail and I would accept whatever
I had coming. I can't imagine I would do such a thing, but that's
what happens when you get old.
The following is the termination of the item Dan Melli [B] sent:
"In our day cigarette smoking was fashionable, grass was mowed,
coke was a cold drink and pot was something you cooked in. Rock
music was grandma's lullaby and AIDS were helpers in the princi-
pal's office. We were certainly not before the differences between
the sexes were discovered but we were surely before the sex change
(we made do with what we had). And we were the last generation
to be so naive as to think you needed a husband to have a baby!"
No wonder we are so conftised and there is such a generation gap
today!

In another letter I received info from Bernie Rice [C]. He had
written earlier and I had forgotten or overlooked the info. He had
told me Captain Zimmerman [C] had died. He also informed me
Harvey Wedding [C] and his wife Ann had also died. Don't know
anything about Zimmerman but I'm sure others from C will remem-
ber him. Harvey was a member of Co. C. Bernie informed me also
