of (Sv) writes: Was rummaging
in the attic and came across an
address book from service. I
began to type all the names
that I knew applied to the 12th.
Forty years have passed but
you guys seem to have an un-
canny knack of finding lost
buddies so am passing it along
for what its worth.
Also enclosed is dues and
small booster.
Regarding the roster, you
have stated there was an update
in 1981. You said it and I believe
you. But no-way did I ever get a
copy. And my super efficient
Hellkitten wife agrees I did not
get a copy. See you in Orlando.
Thanks for all the names Bill.
We will check each and every-
one of them out and pass on
info about the 12th A.D.A. to all
we can. We appreciate names
and addresses of all former 12th
A.D. members. Sorry you didn't
get a 1981 roster but know work
is going on right now for an
updated roster. (Editor's Note:
A copy of the '81 roster was
sent Bill after we received the
above note from him.)
Sidney A. Murphy (SER)
writes: No particular news. I
retired from the USAR National
Guard in 1959 but I also retired
from teaching Vocational Agri-
culture in 1970.
There hasn't been a dull mom-
ent. I have a home shop, a
vegetable garden and a large
lawn to keep mowed. Repair
work, plumbing, welding, prun-
ing and other jobs keep me
busy. (Typist thinks you're a
talented man.)
I have been in the Batesburg-
Leesville Rotary Club for over
thirty-five years.
I am a deacon in First Bap-
tist Church and President of
the Men's Bible Class. I'm also
active in the Senior adults
group, having served as Chair-
man for many years.
I have a card '85-'86 saying
dues paid 'til June 30,1986 - but
I have no record of having paid
the dues. However, I do have a
blank in my checkbook that I
did not record the check in my
records. (Typist says - Am glad
others do this too!) If I have
paid my dues already, just keep
this for next years' dues.
I would appreciate a note
from you to clear up the matter.
I know Norb has been in
touch with Capt. Murphy. The
former C.O. of Ser/43rd. Dues
paid through the 86/87 calendar
year and a generous booster
contributor.

McHarley Anderson (right), B/43rd sent this picture to Secretary
Norb Bruemmer (on left). It was the two of them taken in front of
the Continental Hotel in Nice, France while they were on furlough
in 1945, some forty years ago. How time does change us.
Ivan Moe (A) writes: Please
find enclosed check $7.50 for a
subscription and a change of
address as shown above.
I came to the 12th A.D. at
Camp Campbell in Nov. 1942. I
was assigned to the 43rd. Tk.
Bn. I cooked in different kit-
chens and went overseas with
(A) Co. We had a fine group of
men in the 43rd and all the
cooks I worked with, did the
best they knew how.
Shortly, I will be 80 years old
and I am in good health. I was
inducted at Fort Snelling and
have only praise for the state of
Minn.
I find the climate in Phoenix
and the Valley of the Sun is
good for me. My wife Vicky and
I just love it here.
We are enjoying retirement
and the rocking chair. We keep
active and have so many fri-
ends. Life is by no means dull.
We thank God for all our bless-
ings. With best wishes from an
old cook.
Hi Moe, your hot biscuits
were a real treat years ago and
we're sure glad you're doing
well and in good health today.
Typist note - Bet he'd like some
of your biscuits today - Typists
turn out hard as a rock so I
don't try anymore - He buys
them.
Francis Hogan (D) writes:
Thought maybe we'd get to the
reunion this year, but my 45th
high school one is this year and
we're going back to 111. for that.
Hogan is going to retire next
year so maybe we'll be able to
attend one then.

Scott Hall writes: "This is a
note to say hello to some old
friends who were mentioned in
the Feb. issue. I have been look-
ing for pictures of some of the
friends in the 43rd Tank Battal-
ion to send you, but so far I
have been unable to find them.
It certainly was good to see a
picture of one of the best mess
Sergeants in the business,
Emanuel Richkind. He kept us
going while I was in E Co. doing
maneuvers, and as I recall he
did a very good job with the
food and seeing that we had it
on time and plenty of it.
It was also good to see Tom
Mahoney, as well as my very
good old tank driver, Phillip
Ratler with Van Der Lyke.
I hope Phil Ratler is still
receiving the Hellcat News. I
sent it to him for a couple of
years, and he wrote and said
that he was working very hard
in the construction business at
that time. I hope all is well with
each of you as well as Andy
Migala. It was really good see-
ing him in Nashville last year,
and seeing that he had been
taking such good care of him-
self.
All is going well here in Char-
leston. My only complaint is
that I have had the second back
operation for a ruptured disc,
but I get around very well and
shouldn't complain.
It is good to hear from you
and I hope each of you will take
the opportunity to write a letter
to the "Hellcat News" so that
all of us may keep in touch.

Ralph Magoteaux (C) writes:
"I had knee surgery May 13,
1985. It is called arthroscopy. I
am recuperating but it sure
hurts. Can't write too much. I
want to get this letter in the
mail."
Thanks for the picture - not
too bad. Typist says it was a
darned good picture of two good
people! I love taking pictures.
Ralph went to Maue's picnic
which was on May 18th. I was
unable to go. I really missed it
very much.
Our youngest daughter and
their boys were here for a week.
She helped out for a week, which
was a relief.
"We'll probably see you in
Florida. Don't know for sure.
Velma and Ralph."
Warren J. Honeycutt (A)
writes: "I sure enjoy each issue
of the Hellcat News. Keep up
the good work."
Robert Allan (D) says: "Hello!
Sounds like you are having a
busy year. We enjoy the "Hel-
lcat News", and hope to see you
again at a future reunion. Our
best wishes, Bob and Rena
Allan."
Quentin Skelton (Sv) writes:
"Good Morning! Hope this finds
you both in the best of health.
We are fine, keeping busy all
the time. Just started our 43rd
year together. Got Quentin a
new push lawnmower, now to
get him to use it.
Enclosed is check for his life-
time membership dues. We
wrote to find out about the
cruise - may cost too much.
Quentin talked to Kenzie Wat-
kins of 714th about 2 weeks
ago. Hope to see you in Florida
in Sept. Sincerely, Quentin and
Marie Skelton."
A note from Ed Granlund (B):
"The way things look right
now, I doubt if I will make it to
Orlando. Things in Northern
Mn. look pretty bleak right now
so I will have to be careful
where my money is spent but I
still think I probably will come
to the regional meeting next
spring again (God willing and
the well don't go dry).
I sure enjoyed myself at the
meeting in Wisconsin and hope
to see you people there again. I
am busy with my garden. I got
the early plants up and culti-
vating them and pulling weeds.
We had a frost which out there
