The great problem of the producer
and the consumer as well, is found in
tlu- increasing cost of production due
to the ravages of insects. There is
^ much talk about marketing, but the
j question of production must receive
constantly increasing attention. The
war tin insects must go on at increas-
ing cost. The fight must start ear-
i ly in the fall with th • destruction of

Many farmers are unable to pur- |

insects, and yet the invading hosts I'
cannot be held in check unless all |
join in the work. In such cases it: •
would be economy for the farmers in j
the various communities to purchase |
equipment on the cooperative plan?!
They also could purchase poison in
quantity in the same manner. One ;
big powder sprayer or duster would \
do the work of several hand guns, !
and do it better, and one good power |
machine should be in every commu- I

We have "bull rings," and coopera- !

why not organize to fight insects by
community purchases of equipment.
Farmers cannot expect to make much
headway i nfighting insects unless
they join forces and organize. Bat-
