Mrs. King's pastures, seeing 5500 head
of 'earlings, which was quite a sight
t iflhold.
Wa were very fortunate in all our
travel having no accidents at all (due
to having a splendid driver, Chas. Ran-
dolph.) They have good paved roads
all through the Valley and wo only
drove about 100 miles on dirt road.
They have 11,000 acres set out in
grapefruit, and an additional drive
i: now on to plant seventy five thou-
sand acres more. Last year some of the
I'-rape fruit was shipped to Europe for
inspection and met with such favor
that they received an order for all
' 'it could be raised in the Valley,
"'boy are not only raising grapeefruit
i the Valley but many other wondcr-
1"1 products, and have already this
uson shipped eleven thousand cars
'■i fruits and vegetables.
We counted 56 autos (with four
passengers to the car that one real
estate man had on a tour; and in one
voek 1000 buyers were there. We
vVove through miles and miles where
there were signs, giving names of
!-":ate and buyers for the land. No one
> n comprehend the value of the Val-
. y until they visit there.
Returning home April 4th we were
< eompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Morris
\7elson and Mr. Chas. Randolph. We
' Vd a delightful six weeks trip but
unon returning to Palacios we can
•truthfully say we love Palacios best
' { nil. We have all the possibilities
right here in Palacios that can be
.'ound elsewhere. If we will spend as
uch energy and money as has been
■e»t there, for Palacios has many
'lings of which we can justly be proud
t can be made a fertile garden, just
-■.a other places have Palacios is
.'Homo Sweeet Home" to us.
