man shot on the 5th inst., by

ing. Bell is carrying six more
balls in his body but is doing
well.
Mr. ChitHet the tanner, has
a bear skin robe which is a
beauty. He has tanned
several hundred buffalo robes
this spring, all of which he has
sold to our merchants who find
readv sale for them.

all of our business houses in

Paul Murphy lost twenty
head of sheep from excessive
heat and dipping on Tuesday
last.
Simon Guttman had a num-
ber of sheep to go blind this
week from dipping them for
scab. It is probably the dip
contained too much potash and
was strong enough to eat the
eyes out of a bronze lion.
About three weeks ago Mr.
George Baker, while running
cattle on his ranch on North
Pease river, met with a painful
accident. His horse fell with
him and mashed one foot so
much that he was unable to
walk for a number of days, and
now he can hardly limp a-
round.

poor children of that city to a
