Students Must Face
Ultimate Investment
In America today there is a growing .need for its citizens
to become involved in the nation's activities.
Too many people, these days, are sitting around and
complaining about the bad job the government is doing in
domestic and foreign affairs. But these people do not wish
to become involved.
It is the lack of initiative and interest of the people of
this country that has put us in the situations we're facing
today.
We in America have lost communication with the Federal
Government and even lost it with our State Government.
We may complain about the rising taxes and welfare bill
and a war, yet we fail to do anything about it. We fail to take
an interest that may lead us to involvement.
America was founded on the principle of a government
by the people and for the people, yet that government does
not exist today.
To be Americans we must be aware of all that goes on
around us, and we as college students are thev, leaders -of
tomorrow.
It is to us that the nation wilHurn in a few years and we
must be ready to take on our responsibility in society and
the world.
Now is the time for us to become involved and informed.
Now is the time for it's to take an interest.
We must learn from the mistakes made in the past, that
we do not make them in the future.
We must draw on the knowledge given to us, and use it to
the best of our abilitv. *
