Mrs. George Shawver returned Shower Honors Mrs. C. E. Miller
recently from Davenport, la, a*
which place she had been for a
month visiting her daughter, Mrs
Kay Hughes, and her husband.
Ttiis was the first trip of Mrs.
Shawvor to that part of the coun-
try and she found the climate very
pleasant and the scenery beauti-
ful, Mr. Hughes is an executive
for publishers of the Collier's inuK-
ij.'.ine.

record of attendance last Sunday.

Plainview Club
The Plainview Home Demonstra-
tion Club met Oct. 22nd with Mrs.
S, B Lee Mrs. McFarland and
Mrs. Truett Alvis were the visitors
welcomed
The 22 members present an-
swered roll call, and each one
gave a good report of the work
achieved during the year.
A social hour followed the busi-
ness session
The next meeting will be Nov.
12th, and it will be an all-day
meeting. It will be held with
Mrs, Vaughn Owen, and each of
the members is asked to bring a
The covered dish for the luncheon. Al-
so, each one is asked to bring her
linen pieces to paint. May we
have a good attendance?
Choir practice at 7:15 on Wed-
nesday evening.
There will be no preaching ser-
vice in this church at 11 o'clock
or at the 7:15 hour on the 11th of
November, because this is Confer-
ence Sunday, However, there will
bt church school and Youth ser-
vice in the evening at 0:30 o'clock,
Oirden Club
The Ogden Home Demonstration
Club met Oct Kith in the home
of Mrs, W. W Lynn
All members present gave their
club goals that had been reached
in 1045.
Mrs. Kisinger read a very en-
tertaining story.
Mrs, Jones of the Plainview club
had a bedspread she had just com-
pleted and which was made out
of feed sacks.
The next meeting will be in the
home of Mrs. C T Porter in Sey-
mour on Nov. 2nd
Charles George of Wichita Falls
was here first of the week on a
short visit, with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. T W George. He left
Monday for Dallas with his uncle,
Parks McLarty, who went there
for treatment of his eyes. Parks
is entirely blind now, but the doc-
tors say that by means of an op-
eration he will be able to recover
part of his sight. Until he was
no longer able to see Mr. McLarty
was pharmacist in a drug store at
Vernon.

Pampa after spending the week
end with her parents. Mr. and Mrs.
George S Plants. Miss Elsa has
been working for some time for
the Cabot Carbon Black Company,
and she is now secretary to the
manager of the branch ai Pampa
Miss Plants feels very much at
home now at Pampa, and likes
her work immensely
