Goings On
At The Crazy
Mary Vanlandinqham
Everyone was concerned
about the tornadoes Tuesday
night a week ago that hit
Wichita Falls that killed a lot
of people and destroyed
many homes and put about
700 people in hospitals. We
have friends in Wichita Falls
we would like so much to
hear if they are o.k. and if
their homes were destroyed.
We are thankful that our area
was not hit.
Mrs. Alice Uross' daughter,
Billie Joe Bell of Palo Pinto
came April 11 and brought
Mrs. Cross an Easter lily. And
her great - granddaughter
Amy Anderson of
Weatherford visited MrsCross,
also on April 11. She was glad
to see both and appreciated
the Easter lily.
Mrs. Lillian Spurlock
returned last week after
spending a week with family
in Fort Worth. She says she
really had a nice visit.
Mrs. Lillie Gregg returned
last week after spending a
month in DeLeon with her
children and other family
members.
Mrs. Warren Pruitt and little
son Kevin came on
Wednesday and had lunch
with me in the dining room.
But she brought the lunch,
"big juicy hamburgers" and
Cokes." Then after we came
up to my room Mrs. Nettie
Johnson came for a visit and
we all had a real good time
together.
• Otis Moon was here on
Wednesday of last week for a
short visit. All his friends
were glad to see him. He
fooked well, but will not be
Released from Leisure Lodge
for another month or two. He
Was admitted to PPGH in
January and was there about
three weeks and was sent
to Leisure Lodge when he left,
the hospital. We will all be
glad to have him back.
We are sorry Mrs. Lena U.
Dean who is a resident on
fifth floor, had to go to Palo
Pinto General Hospital last
Wednesday. We hope she will
soon be doing much better
and can return to the hotel.
s Mrs. Maggie Berry a resident
on second floor was admitted
to Palo Pinto General one day
last week. "Get Well" wishes
go out to her also.
- "Thanks" to Mrs. Helen C.
Bowman who is a new
subscriber to the "Palo Pinto
County Star," we hope she
enjoys it, and knows she will.
We hate to think about it,
but April 28 is just around
the corner and that is the
time we run our clocks up 1
hour before we retire
Saturday night - to daylight
saving time, that is unless you
■Want get up at 2 a.m.
Sunday to run your clocks
hp. It's "Spring up and Fall
Back."
1' Mrs. Leta Klum and Mrs.
Henry Cohagan went to Ft.
Worth Monday with Leta's

' Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Blagg of

to their home in Denton. She
will visit there a few days
then on to McKinney where

/they will fish and go boating
and have picnic lunch.

jfurniture sale going on in the
' pavilion. These items of hotel
'furniture have been stored on
'the roof.
It really looks like Easter
"here, with all of the pots of
Easter lillies that have been
sent. Mineral Wells Floral sent
two pots of lillies they sent to
residents and employees of
> the hotel. One is in the dining
• room and the other is on the
front desk.
Easter Sunday weatherwise,
was ideal and a lot of our
residents attended Sunday
School and church of their
choice. Many guesis came
here to have Easter Sunday
lunch. Among the visitors
were Mrs. Effie Gilbert, who
took her mother Mrs. Leta
Klum to church then came
back and had lunch with her
and Mrs. Evelyn Harrell was
one of the visitors we saw
several we did not know.
Easter Sunday was air
conditioning weather.
Welcome home to Mrs.
Bertha Smith who has been,
gone since January. She spent
a while in PPGH, then a long
stay in the Leisure Lodge,
then to her brother's home
near Weatherford. She is not
able to come down for all of
her meals, but she came down
for Easter lunch Sunday, but
was on a walker. We trust
that she will soon be stronger
each day and will be back to
norma).
Mrs. Bonnie Summar
enjoyed having her niece and
husband spend the Easter
weekend herr with her. They
are Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Steller from Alvin, Mrs.
Steller teaches school in
Alvin, but Monday was a
school holiday there so they
didn't leave here until
Monday afternoon. Bonnie
