running, was left unattended by driver Larry Nail in front of
the First National Bank Monday afternoon. The pickup,
owned by Mike Farleigh of Albany, slipped into reverse and
rolled across the street, stopping when it crashed into an

June Swimming Lessons Begin
At Webb Pnrk Pool
Swimming instruction is going
strong at the Webb Park pool,
said Jerry Estep, supervisor of
the school
"We have 56 buddies who get
after it," he commented, "lyes
sons are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m., in four groups according to
age."
The age range is from thr^- to
nine years.' "Wht-n the wind is

he said, "but when the wind is
calm it is very pleasant for
them "
Assisting with instruction are
Temple Wiloth, Jeri Todd and
Sharla Kstep. There are ten
lessons in the course Makeup
lessons will be ^iven on Satur
day, .July 8 for any who have to
miss a session.
'They're having fun and I am
too," Estep admitted. "It kills
me, but I love it."

$800 Aid For Bui
Commissioners Court con-
vened in their monthly meeting
on June 12 with the opening
prayer led by Judge Fincher
who presided.
Bills were canvassed and ap-
proved.
Clifford Teinert appeared, re
questing use of the court house
square for Texas Trails Chuck
wagon for barbecue suppers
during Fandangle. Clarence Wil-
liams and Robert Hill appeared,
requesting space for turquoise
jewelry and cotton candy sales.
The court decided that anyone
who makes a legitimate request
for concession stands will be
approved as long as space is
available.
A request for a 12 passenger
bus to West Texas Council of
Governments for transportation
of the elderly citizens was
heard. A sum in the amount of
1800 was approved and will be
paid by the County.
A letter from Sam Webb,
Adjutant of the American leg-
ion Miller Post, was read re
questing that the County pay for
repairs on rest rooms of the hall
in Albany, which is used for
holding elections in Precinct 1.
Estimated cost is 147.19. Com-
missioner Connally moved that
the repair bill be allowed. Passed
by unanimous vote.
