ployment with his father there. Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Thomas
have been visiting the past 10
days in Fort Worth, Dallas and
Wichita Falls.

Owen Driver of Benjamin was
irv Seymour Tuesday, and 'said that
his town finally got some rain, last
Saturday. About an inch and one-
half fell at Benamin, with two
inches to territory west of town.
This was the first rain when water
ran on the ground since the drouth
began in June.

S. E. Reed, superinendent of the
Benamin schools, was here Tues-
day wrtih his family. Mr. Reed had
returned Monday from a trip to
Missouri, where he went in com-
pany with an uncle from Amarillo.
Previous to that, the Reeds had
been on a trip to the Texas Coast,
in company with the F. A. Robi-
nettes, and there was a bunch of
fishing that really should have
been reported in the paper when
they got back home. The only
trouble is that not everybody be-
lieves these big fish stories.

Buck Sanders, who has been
confined to his bed for nine
weeks has had a number of visi-
tors recently. Among them have
been his brother, Mack Sanders,
with his son and wife, three nieces
from Fort Worth, the John Stock-
tons from Rochester and their
daughters. Mr. and Mrs. John Wor-
rell and Mr. and Mrs. Oren Owens
from Wichita Falls. Luke Cross
from Jacksboro, TrarrJmel Lee
Stockton, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shaw-
ver of Wichita Falls also visited.
Mi's. Shawver is the former Mozel
Jernigan.
Mr. amd Mrs. J. T. Brown were
in Abilene from Friday through
Sunday visiting in the home of
their daughter, Mrs. H. C. Dennfc.
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Witt and
their little daughter came from
San Antonio last week end to
visit Mrs. Witt's pairents, Mr. and
Mrs. Erne:t Kinroibrugh, and to
taike home Doyle Bruce and Paul
who have been here with their
grandparents for several weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. James McGaughey
had as guests this week Mrs. Jim-
mie McGaughey and her three-
yea~-old daughter. Jimmie rs be-
ing transferred to Dallas after hav-
ing worked for the last 15 months
in Montana.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wiggins came
home Monday after having visited
the last two weeks with their chil-
dren in Arlington and Grand
Prairie . They brought with them
their granddaughter, Carolyn Hor-
ton of Grand Prairie.
Mrs. A. S. Jernigan had as re-
cent visitors Mr. and M'.'s. Ernest
Thomas of Wichita Falls.

Recent visitors in the heme of
Mrs. Mattie Russell have been
her brother, J T Grisham of Mc-
Kinney, and his son, Cliff Grisham
of Stamford.
Attending district R. A. camp at
Verr.on last week from Monday
through Thursday were Rev. Berl
Cavin. Jim Frank Coulston, Ervin
Nichols, and Elmer Rutledge. Mrs.
Cavin visited with her husband's
parents at Crowell while he was
away.
Mrs. Jimmie Jefcoat and James
David of Dallas spent several days
here last week.
The Fred Wiles family visited
with Mrs. Wile?' mother at Silver
Valley and with the Roy Tomlin-
sons at Miles last week.
Mr. amd Mrs. Tom Collins visit-
ed the Ferman Dowds last week
end. Both Mr. and Mrs. Collins
are working in Wichita Falls this
sumnier. Their daughters are with
his parents at Grand Saline.

Mrs. R. W. Talbott and David of
Ballinger attended a home-coming
at Ratcliff Sunday before last.
Jimmie Randoph was home from
Winters for the week end.
Mention 'should have been made
several weeks ago of Mr. and Mrs.
J. F. Hughes and Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Trainham's going to Flo-
morufc to attend funeral services for
Wirnie Grace's father-in-law. They
took with them to rejoin her par-
ents, Winnie Grace's daughter, Ilo-
ma Tanner, who had been visiting
here.
Visitors unmentioned at the time
of their visit were the Joesph Al-
fords who visited the E. A. Becks
enroute to their home in Dallas
from a vacation trip.

Richards have been visiting here.
They took hack with therrf to Dal-
las Mozel's little daughter, Debbie,
who had been at Pecos with Mr.
and Mrs. Duward Richards since
May. Willie spent most of the
week here and Duward came for
her on the week end. Reese was
here from Vinita Okla., to join the
other membei's of the family.
Mrs. Sonny Crawford end Kan-
die of Seymour are spending this
week with her sister, Mrs. Loran
Patterson.
L. M. Christian left Monday for
Oklahoma. He planned to visit
the Earl Hunts.
Mrs. Calvin Christian and her
boys. Mi«s. Harry Beck and Mr
Scott Green were business visi-
tors in Rotan one day last week
Mrs. John Roth of Amarillo
spent the week end with her
mother, Mrs. W. P. Hurd.
Bill Feemster, Bobby Rober»> ,
and Carol Kuchan returned one
day last week from a 'session of
combining in Colorado. Bill and
the Bobby Robersons left Sunday
for Levelland with another trip
to Colorado in view.
Buddy Feemster, who has been
in Villegreen, Colorado spent
about a week here recently visit-
ing his father, Ralph Feemster,
and other relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Lavoy Kinnibrugh
and their boys spent larst week
end in Lubbock.
A revival will begin Friday
night at the Vera Baptist Church.
Night services are to be held on
the church lawn. Pastor Berl Ca-
vin will do the preaching, and the
music will be under the direction
of Ted Boya of Brownwood.
Mrs. C. L. Willis has returned
from spending three weeks in the
home of her brother, Sam Nail of
Alpine. Sam has a ranch about
35 miles from that place. It was
cool most of the timfe Mrs. Willis
was there, and 'she had a most en-
joyable visit. It rained there the
night she left, and there had been
rain at most of the places on the
way home.
