The Henry Arledge home was
visited the past week by Mr. Ar-
ledge's mother, Mrs. T. E. Arledgie
of Sweetwater; and by Mrs. Ar-
ledge's mother and sister, Mrs. M.
W. Carlisle and Miss Mittie Car-
lisle of Winters. The visitors were
not here at the same time, except
that one day of their visits co-
incided.

CADE-TAYLOR RITES

Miss LuAn Taylor, the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Taylor, be-
came the bride of Derwood Cade,
the son of Mr. ar.d Mrs. Joe Cade,
in a ceremony read at the First
Baptist Church, Clovis, N. M., on
January 14.
The bride, a graduate of Sey-
mour High School, wore a street-
length dress of navy blue. Her
flowers were gardenias. The groom
is also a Seymour High School
graduate. They were attended by
Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Kilgore of
Amarillo.
They will be at home, after a
short wedding trip, at Amarillo.
Mrs. Helen Trouppy and her
daughter. Miss Lucile Trouppy, of
Wichita Falls, entertained at a
dinner honoring the bride-and-
groom-to-be at the Hotel March-
man on Monday, January 12. At-
tending were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Martin, Mrs. Elizabeth Zimmer-
man, Mrs. Paul Schoppe. and
Misses Freida Serena and Jim Bob
Cade.

Justice of the Peace, Mr. Clay
Ellis.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Thurman of
Seymour and is a graduate of
Seymour High School. She is now
employed by the General Tele-
phone Company.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Simon Benge of Seymour. He
has just completed his time in the
service and is working for the
Morris-Wirz Chevrolet Co.
The couple has establshed resi-
dence in one of the W. M. Spear's
cottages.
CHILDREN AT BEDSIDE
OF MRS. STELLA POWELL
Mrs. Stella Powell of Red
Springs is in a critical condition
at the Baylor County Hospital as
the result of a stroke she suffered
last week. Her entire family is
at her bedside. Present are F.
U. Powell of Red Springs, Joe
Powell of Megargel; E. R. Powell,
Midland; Mrs. M. L. Steavens, Del-
aware. Okla.; Mrs. C. C. Metze,
Amarillo; Mrs. J. F. Longley, Abi-
lene; and Mrs. Otis Avary, Sey-
mour.

Club met Tu-esday, Jan. 20, In the
home of Mrs. E. C. Henyan.
Mrs. E. C. Beckner led the dis-
cussion and demonstration on

in your home.
The club planned a March of
Dimes "42" party for Friday night,
Jan. 30, in the home of Mrs. Ogle

Mrs. Walter Self, Mrs. L. D. Bur-

hostesses.
A refreshment plate was served

of Derwood Cade, was honored
with a bridal shower Thursday
evening, January 15, at the home
of Mrs. Deaton Greene, 310 South
Donald. Sharing the hostess duties
were Mmes. Fred Dea, Bob Har-
! mon, Roy Richeson, A. J. Fojtik,
Ferrell Wright, E. A. Syptak and
Misses Jean Greene and Glenna
Brown.
Miss Greene greeted the guests
at the door. In the receiving line
were the honoree, her >mother,
Mrs. Roy Taylor, the groom-to-be's
mother, Mrs. Joe Cade, the bride-
elect's sister, Miss Jane Taylor, and
Mrs. Weldon Welch of Truscott,
sister to the groom-to-be.
Miss Glenna Brown presided at
; the brides' book.
The table, covered with a white

arrangement of pink glads and
; carnations. Pink streams bore the
names "LuAin/and Derwood." Mrs.

could have 'been here, but glad
they both have good positions.
Marion is with the Southwestern
Finance Company, and Rhea Jane
is assistant home demonstration
agent. The friends here are still
believing the couple will some day
be back in Symour.
