4 game at Kerrville was won by the 4th
Field Artillery, Battery A of Camp Stan-
ley. score 7 to 1 The game was witnessed
by a crowd that broke all previous rec-
ords. numbering stMl people or more. The
game was a thriller and both teams played
fast ball, the score should have been 'loser
but the soldiers had the Kerrville Ath-
letics considerably bested on the tuound.
Hemphill for the soldiers allowed only
three hits, while Ilass for Kerrville was
located for three doubles and nine singles.
The Kerrville fans are glad to know that
their old reliable, Pitcher Manny, who
has been out of the game, account of in-
juries, will take cure of the slab work the
next gaiue.
Besides the regular game the fans were
treated to a special five Inning basebull
comedy, played between the Fats and Leans
of Kerrville. The Leans were taken by
surprise when the Fats walked off the
field with the game by the score of .'5 to
li. ltees and Abbott, comprised the bat-
tery for the heavies while Hchwetheliu.
Saeuger and Brooks worked for the skin -

defeat on their home diamond on the Fourth of
July, when the Han Antonio Arsenal baseball
club held the locals to two scattered hits aud

game of the series. Two games were played.
The Arsenal team took the first, 1 to U. and
Cuero copied the other. to L\
The first game was airtight for the Turkey
Trotters, I'ape of the Arsenals, with errorless
support, allowing but two hits of the scratch
variety. These came in the second and sixth j
frames after two were down. Wassernian of
the locals was the only member of the home

The Camp Travis Athletic Department
will ngain resume their boxing shows, and
a splendid card is scheduled for tonight
at 8:15. These programs were temporarily
stopped on account of the demobilization ^f
fo many men, but Camp Athletic Director
A. W. Jones states that if the spectators
show an interest and the crowd Is large
enough to warrant It, a card will be put
on every other week.
Four bouts have been arrange-; between
some of the best boxers In the surround-
ing camps. All the bouts wl be our two-

tions, but real s- raps, the Travis athletic
director has ruled to assure his audience

sey, the new heavy weigh champion, he
will have to come to this country to wage
battle. ^ This was the decbion of Manager
Jack Keams today in a irivate message
sent here. Jack had been offered a big
sum to go to Paris for such a contest,
but he declined. He cabled lie would fight
the French champion and willingly, but
that the fight must be held on American
soil.
