SAN ANGELO ROBBERS BOLD
Merchant!) Talk Now of Having Spe-
cial Night Police.
Special Telegraai to The Express.
SAN ANGELO, Tex., July 8-So bold
have thieves become here that some
robbery l« reported almost every ntght.
Merchants are beginning to talk of hir-
ing special police to patrol the down-
town section. The City Council recently
diil away with the two night policemen.
Representatives of Oklahoma banks
have been In tills section for the past
several days attempting to purchase cat-
tle. Only tho best grades are desired.
These cattle are to be shipped to Okla-
homa ami fed on ensilage during the
winter. The farmers there will rail* so
much feed stuff that they will be un-
able to dispose of it In any other way.
The stockmen here are not inclined to
sell their cattle, even at the fancy prices
offered, as bumper feed crop* ar#
promised throughout this section.
A real war between handlers of gaso-
line has been started here, and ths
liquid is now selling for less than ID
cents a gallon. A few days ago It sold
for 20 cents Promises of additional cuts
have been made and automobile peopl*
are smiling In consequence.
