its nearby 12,500-volt line on Dun-
canville Road into the Air Force
station. Three new air switches,
a pole, and a span of conductor
were used in the construction.
A planned electric interruption
which affected most of the 'town
for one hour, from 2-3 p.m. Thurs-
day, April 19, was carried out on
schedule to allow for the new con-
struction, said Mr. Rogers. Three
crews, including two from Waxa-
hachie and one from Lancaster,
worked on the project.
The new line replaces a 12,500-
volt power line owned the Air
Force station that extended east
from the station across Duncan-
ville school property to a TP&L
transmission line.

over the telephone. At our open
house, the people of Duncanville
will be able to hear their own
voices. Also, they will have the
opportunity to see how their voices
look," Manager Griffin commented.
In addition to seeing the com.
plicated telephone equipment in
operation, open house guests will
be able to see how the connector,
selector, and "line finder" switches
all play a part in the placing and
completion of telephone calls. A
small dial demonstration board will
give visitors a compact, close-up
view of these operations.
To further entertain guests, a
machine with a "mechanical brain"
will match wits with anyone in the
popular game of "Tick-Tack-Toe."
"This machine, with its own
built-in 'brain,' is guaranteed to
best, or at least tie, any human
opponent in this game," Griffin
explained.
The open house is absolutely
free, and everyone in town is in-
vited to tour the telephone build-
ing. Special invitations have been
extended to all local schools, urging
them to have their students tour
the building in a group, the man-
ager said.
"We hope all the people of Dun~
canville will plan to attend the
open house. We think they'll enjoy
our exhibits and gain a more com-
plete picture of what goes on be-
hind their telephones," Griffin re-
marked.
