Tracks jn tracings . . .
Scatter shooting
District attendance . . .
By Tracy R, Mesler
"And what do you want
for Christmas?
There are days my
answer would be: "A paint-
ball machine gun to tag all
of the neighborhood strays
that folks keep turning out
to leave large piles in my
yard!" But then PETA
would probably want me
arrested rather than the care-
less, discourtesy folks who
just "turn 'em loose" when
they get home each night.
**
Overheard at breakfast
Sunday from a fella who
spent much of the day
Saturday 'cleaning up' his
city:
"I'm thinking about run-
ning for City Council on the
platform of 'I'll spend it
all.' Every last cent the
council has been hoarding."
This fella seems to think the
city isn't doing all it can to
"set the example" of
Keeping Nocona Beautiful.
Driving around town
looking at city maintained
properties, I can't say he's
wrong.
A reminder, I'll be stand-
ing on Clay Street ready,
willing and able to take pic-
tures of the Memorial Day
Parade in May.
Now the question is, will
anybody show up? Will
anybody organize a parade?
Does anybody, including the
veterans, give a rip?
We'll see in May.
Is anybody else getting
the impression we're going
to have a 'real winter' this
year? We've certainly
already had a couple of real-
ly hard cold snaps and even
a heavy, albeit brief blanket
of snow.
Just getting the feeling
more cold, wet stuff is on its
way. Good. Maybe there
will be a few less bugs this
next spring and summer.

And yes, the opening of
the facility is, finally, draw-
ing near. After the first of
the year the Board can
announce an tenative open-
ing date for Phase I of the
facility.
Sound Off, Readers...
"And the walls come
tumbling down."
Folks, a lot has been said
since Tiger Woods had the
wreck. One thing I keep
wanting to ask those women
(other than his wife) is
"Why didn't you speak up
before Tiger had this acci-
dent?"
I bet you enjoyed every
minute you spent with tiger
whether you were dressed
up or bare naked. Chances
are you'd love to spend
more time with this golfer if
you had a chance to.
Prostitution is the second
oldest job known to
mankind. The one above it
is taking care of this earth
we live on. Gen 2:5 "and
God needed a man to till the
ground."
Adam was doing alright
until our creator put him to
sleep. When Adam awoke
and saw this other human
being he intended to say
"Wow. man what's going
on here now?" but all she
heard him say (so she
thought) was "Woman."
Men, let's not run down
Tiger. That woman was just
as much at fault as he was!
Ever heard the saving "It
takes two to tango?"
'Nough said for now.

The Nocona News mis-
takenly reported last week
County Clerk Glenda
Henson and District Clerk
Leisa Darden had filed for
reelection as Republicans.
Neither, as of press time
last week, had filed for re-
election. And both ran as
Democrats in 2006. The
News apologizes for any
confusion this may have cre-
ated.
