Nocona Resident
Makes Distinguished
Students List at
Tarleton
STEPHENVILLE
William "Casey" Dean of
Nocona was recently named
to Tarleton State
University's Distinguished
Students list. Dean is major-
ing in PreMedical at the uni-
versity's Stephenville cam-
pus.
Students on the list
include freshman and sopho-
more students who have a
minimum 3.25 grade point
ratio (GPR) and no grade
lower than a 'C,' and juniors
and seniors who have a min-
imum 3.5 GPR with no grade
lower than a 'C.' All must be
in good standing with the
university.
Midwestern State
WICHITA FALLS —
Midwestern State University
had 617 undergraduate and
graduate students who were
candidates for degrees in
May 2009 with the provision
that they meet all require-
ments as prescribed by the
faculty and administration.
Honor graduates receiv-
ing bachelor degrees includ-
ed 31 summa cum laude, 53
magna cum laude, and 75
cum laude. Honor require-
ments are a grade point aver-
age of 3.9-4.0 for summa
cum laude, 3.7-3.89 for
magna cum laude and 3.5-
3.69 for cum laude. If a stu-
dent received one of these
honor designations, it will be
noted after the name.

Deputy Sheriffs investi-
gated a report of criminal
mischief after a 4-wheeler
was damaged June 1 in the
2300 block of the Upper
Montague Road.
A trailer and riding lawn
mower were reported stolen
June 2 from the 100 block of
Jerry Walker Road.
A 4-wheeler was stolen
from the 400 block of
Private Road 165 on June 3.
A man was assaulted by
unknown persons about 4:30
p.m. June 4 in the 1100
block of FM 1749.
