Pets of the Week
This girl's fur suit is "tortoisesheil" personified, with
PORTIA its great pattern of colors. Also of note: her dear
orange bib and very lyrical tail. Lovely haircoat aside,
Portia is also a good reminder that sweet things come in (fairly) small
packages. Quiet and always ready with a quintessential sitting-pretty cat
pose (when she isn't snuggled in a lap), she sticks close by, even if your
attention is elsewhere. "Precious" is another word that comes to mind -
especially in the context of her nose-to-nose displays of affection. How can
you resist her? Please consider adopting Portia into your family.
Toby is a Chihuahua mix approximately 2 years old.
TOBY He was found running loose and brought to the
shelter and now he is looking for a home. Toby is a
little guy weighing in at about 5 pounds or so but he doesn't have a small dog
presence about him. Some people believe that Chihuahuas originated from the
Fennec Fox and Toby certainly has a foxy look in his appearance. He is cute and
strong looking but he wants to get to know you before he will let you into his
world. He is a little bit shy at first but once he trusts you, he will warm up. He is very energetic and playful and
plays very well with the other dogs at the shelter. We don't know about children or cats. The Chihuahua is known
to be courageous, lively and adventurous and very affectionate. They tend to have a sassy nature with terrier-like
attitudes of self importance, confidence and self-reliance. They don't need a lot of exercise other than play time
but a daily walk is fun for them and also satisfies their need to explore new things. Chihuahuas respond best to
gentle training with positive reinforcement. Because of his size Toby would do equally well in an apartment or
house. If you are interested in seeing this small wonderful little dog, come and see him at Dog & Kitty City.
