the constitutionality ot the interstate
commerce act of 1 K9s. which makes com
inon carriers liable on shipments received
by them for damage beyond tlicit own
lines before the shipment is delivered to
the consignee. The plaintiffs shipped
bags of mohair ovet the defendant road
to a Boston concern and the shipments
turned out short.

CURFEW MEETING TOMORROW.
Mayor, School Trustees and Judges
Invited to Speak.
A call has been issued for a. mass meet
ing, t<i be held tomorrow afternoon at t
o'clock in the rooms of the Court of Civil
Appeals, to discuss the ipn stlon of a < ui
few law for San Antonio. The committer
representing various women's clubs of the
city agitating the matter, announce the
meeting with the following explanation.
"The object ,if this incline, will be to
consider and decide upon the necessity
for and legality ot an ordinance to ke. p
children off the streets and other public
I places of the city after nightfall, and, if
j such ordinance be decided to be necessary
I and legal, to tnkt steps to have the
same enacted and enforced.
"All persons who are interested, either
for or against a curfew law for San An-
tonio are asked to attend this meeting.
All those who have expressed, or who de-
sire to express their vi< ws In opposition
j to the proposed curfew law. are cspeoily
' invited to attend, in order that ever> pos-
sible objection thereto may be voiced and
considered. The importance of t'is
movement to the present and future wel-
fare of our city demands the attention of
every citizen, and obleetions which have
been made indicate the necessity to pro-
ceed with caution ami only after till pos-
sible objections have received lull and
moderation.
"Personal invitations to deliver ad-
dresses have been or will be extended to
the Mayor, the Councihiien. school trus-
tees, County. District and Court of Civil
Appeals Judges; the City. County and
District Attorneys, the Chief of Police
and other prominent citizens.'"
