C. Group Requirements
From the following groups, the student must select a major subject
in which he must offer 18 semester hours of advanced work and a
minor subject in which he must offer 9 semester hours of advanced
work. The student is advised to choose major and minor subjects
from the same division. For valid reasons, however, the minor
subject may be selected from a group other than that of the major
subject, provided the student assumes the consequences and secures
written permission from the Head of the Department of his major
subject, and of the Dean, and files the statement with his application
for degree. Major and minor work may not be in the same subject.
