Advanced Course. Spring Term. Three Hours a Week.
Practice Teaching.-This course consists of recitations, reports,
collateral readings, as required by instructor, in addition to three
hours each week actually spent in practice teaching.
Prerequisites.-Junior standing. and two full years' work in
Education.

Advanced Course. One Term. Three Hours a Week.
Prerequisite.-Junior standing, Education 13q 14 and 15, and 16,
17 or 20, with two years of college English,
EDUCATION 101.
Advanced Course. One Term. Three Hours a Week.
The Teaching of Mathematics in Secondary Schools.-It is the
purpose of this course to present the best modern practice in America
and abroad in the teaching of algebra and geometry. The
course will include discussion of the problems relating to the position
of algebra in the curriculum, the aims of teaching the reorganization
of subject matter, the results of modern investiga.
tions that have been conducted on the teaching of algebra, and
the recent tests for measuring attainment in that subject.
The work of Geometry will include such topics as introduction
to Geometry, nature and type of geometric reasoning, experiments
in improving the methods of teaching geometry, applications of
geometry in life about us, and modern tests in measuring the attainments
in geometry.
In connection with the study of methods, there will be opportunity
for observation work and actual experience in teaching these
subjects under supervision of the director of the training school.
Prerequisite.-Junior standing, and two full courses in Education.35
