High School Choir Announces
Years Plans Activities
Mrs Georgia Daniel Tulia High
School choir director recently announced
future plans and activities
of the chorul group
Some of the most outstanding actl
at es include a concert In Lubbock
planned for early November a Christmas
concert In December and
contest In the spring
Mrs Daniel reports The choir
this year is small In sire but full of
cooperation and has a will to win
We really need a better voice distribution
but even so we are out
for a first rating when we go to
contest W th the support and goodwill
of TIIS we will make It
Plans are not yet complete for
the annual spring concert but something
exciting and different Is being
planned says Mrs Daniels
Extra rehearsals have been scheduled
each Monday evening at 6
pmMembers
Members of the choir classes are
looking forward to a Get Acquainted
Party after the next extra rehearsalVarious members of the choir are
also working on group singlrg quartets
solos trios and other ensembles
Anyone ntercsted m any of these
groups is asked to contact Mrs
Daniel for tryouts
Two choir classes recently elected

school term

Mrs Daniel head of the choral
department at THS attended Oklahoma
State College at StlllwaterOk
lahoma where she received the Reed
Scholarship to MacPhall Conservatory
of Music and Art located in
Minneapolis Mmn
She was admitted to the faculty
of Mac Phail a year before she
graduated and later received the
Sigma Alpha Iota Scholarship Award
for postgraduate work in music

Mrs Daniel serve as assistant
vtxral supervisor at Robbinsdale Mi
nesota and has done concert work
with the Mac Phail Symphony as a
violin soloist She has also done extensive
concert work as violin soloist
throughout Minnesota Iowa and
Oklahoma
While tcachng in Amarillo she
was assistant concert m stress of the
Amanita Symphony Orchestra In
Lubbock she served at the First
Methadist church as choir director
