Capes are popular for every age
starting with the tiniest miss in
the house. This pretty little cape
dress is made of green jersey em-
broidered in black. The bloomers
are shirred at the knees, the over-
dress has tiny pockets and the cape
has a black leather collar, all of
which will appeal to the little miss.

was much in evidence today, values bound-
ing as rvsult &t better cables tliau due and
forecast for rain and colder in the south-
west Increasing cloudiness east of the Mis-
sissippi river, probably rain, where dry
weather is wanted.
Washington's weekly weather summary
was bullish, reporting much damage done
to early planted cotton in southern Texas,
some harm In the central gulf region, but
only slight damage in Florida as result of
the recent fneese as yet the weather re-
mains too cold for seeding in the early pro-
ducing sections of the southwest, and the
land remains too wet I* the valley' and
Atlantic states, particularly in Alabama and
Georgia for plowing. Warsier weather ie
needed In ail sections of the cotton region
Juyt now except rain in west Texas, but in-
stead of dry, warm weather, rain and
colder, probably snow extreme northern por-
tion, is predicted for west of the Mississippi

followed by raiti, is the outlook for tho

New Orleans, Ln., March 8.—Prices wero
raised 14 to 1!) points in the first half hour
of trading in cotton today by buying nrousod
by a better Liverpool market than due.
The continued drouth in tho northwestern
section of the belt and continued rather lew
temperature* over the belt generally were
regarded an buying features. May was sent
to 16.02.
The tone held steady and prices were
gradually advanced by the forecast of rain
for every state In the cotton belt, by the
unfavorable tone of the weekly report by the
government on new crop prospects nnd by
claims from Texas of more inquiry for xpots
on the part of European buyers. Toward
noon prices were 20 to 27 points up with
May at 17 cent*.
GRAIN
Chicago, lit., March I.—New setbacks In
the price of wheat here resulted early to-
day from fresh declines In quotation's at
Liverpool, Uncertainty continued as to
whether the government report this after-
noon on farm reserve stock of wheat would
prove bullish or bearish.
The opening which varied from to 1H
cents lower with May $1.46 to $1.41% and
July $1.16% to $1.19, waa followed by alight
additional declines.
Corn And oat» declined with wheat. Af-
ter openiug %c to %c lower 63 to 63'A,
corn receded • little more.
Oats started unchanged to 14 c lower, May
411, to 4I>4 and then underwent an addi-
tional sag.

Fort Worth. March $.—Strength was ap-
parent In the cattle market today, cows,
heifers, yearlings aiyl calves gaining around
25 cents, while steer rates remained fully
steady. A car of choice yearlings went at
$7.*5, a new high range for the s<-::oi'.
Receipts 3,500 cattle and 500 calves. A
largo quota of the supply came ln late but
met with a broad demand.
Salesmen were disappointed with the hog
market. Buyers taking advantage of the
big run of 4,600 head here, prices wero
hampered to the extent of 25 to 40 cents.
Most of the offering waa very trashy. The
top on hogs was $10.15 nnd hulk sales $15®
to $10.00. Pigs sold $7.00 to $8.50 for tho
most part.
Sheep receipts <,000 head, of whk*h 3,500
