In the American league, Boston cele-
brated Patriot's day Monday by touching
New York twice and won again Tuesday.
The Yankees, defeating Philadelphia twice,
but the Athletics took a pitchers' battle to-
day. St. Louis. Philadelphia and Detroit
did nit win a last week.
In the National league, Deak, of St.
Loula, pitched two shut out games, aiding
the Cardinals to approach nearer 'he lead-
ers. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia each won
half their games. The Pirates' two vic-

Boston fielded poorly, dropping four
