KILLED SUNDAY
BY EXPLOSION
Bill McPhcrson was killed In-
stantly Sunday afternoon w > en
an engine he was servicing at
the Santa Fe roundhouse here
exploded
The accident occurred about
two oclock In the afternoon The
boiler of the engine was blown
entirely through the side of the
building Despite the efforts of
the Canadian fire department
and numerous other volunteer
workers and railroad employes
considerable damage was done
by the flames which spread
rapidly In the slight wlrvd
McPhersons body badly
burned was taken to the Stick
Icy funeral home by Stlckley
ambulance as soon as It could
be rescued
William A McPhcrson said to
be an oiler at the englnehouse
had spent most of his life In
Canadian He was about forty
years old Survivors Include his
wife the former Ethel Guffey
four children Darrell Wayne
13 William Hobson 9 Clarence
Henry 8 and Frederick Jcston
3 his father Fred McPherson of

Mrs Sam Bentley has received
word that her son N II Nollfe
Bentley of Parker Wash had
the misfortune to break some of
the small bones in his leg last
Tuesday when his horse fell with
him on the pavement
Mr Bentley used to make his
home here but has lived in Wash
ington for several years now Mrs
Bentley is the former Miss Amelia

highway accident about 6 oclock

The accident occurred when a
car is said to have pulled out in
front of them to make a left turn-
about 2H miles on the other side

post and turned over twice
