General Commission and Forwarding House
HAVING purchased the large and com-
modious Warehouse of Messrs. J. H.
Powers & Co., at the Mouth of the Rio
Grande, we are prepared to receive for for-
warding or for sale, any and all goods con-
eignedto our care for New Orleans, or any
part of Mexico or Texas. Liberal advances
made on Hides, Wool, &c., consigned to us
for New Orleans or the Eastern markets.—
Having annexed our own large stock of goods
to that of Messrs. Powers & Co., we flatter
ourselves that we can offer greater induce-
ments to purchasers than any other house
on the Rio Grande. The purchaser can
have the advantage of the large and good
assortment of both Mexican and Sutlers'
goods to select from, at as low prices as they
can be purchased in this country. We there
fore solicit the attention of merchants and
traders to our stock and prices before pur-
chasing elsewhere, for we think they will
find it to their interest as well as ours. We
offer for sale the following articles, with
great number and variety of others.
Wines, teas, coffee; sugars, white, brown,
and loaf; lard, butter, cheese, hams, segars of
the finest brands; chewing, bale, and smoking
tobacco, of all brands: Stoughton's bitters,
syrups, preserves, coraials, molasses, soap,
candlea, and all else in the grocery line; flour,
potatoes, onions, &c.; boots and shoes o
every description; clothing of every variety
and quality; crorkery, hardware, and hollow
ware; nails, Manilla rope, black and white
lead, paints, oils, and turpentine; a full ant

assortment, and are constantly receiving
fresh supplies of Groceries, Clothing, Boots
and Shoes, Dry Goods, and other articles
best suited to the lv exican trade, which they
will sell low for cash. Those who are desi-
rous of saving time and money will do well
to call on them. Having a Wharf Boat,
they are prepared to receive and forward
freight to any point on the Rio Grande, with
the utmost despatch. They will also forward
to their agents in New Orleans, any consign-
ments of Hides, Wool, &c- from Camargo,
Matamoros, and other places. Orders for
lightering oil the Brasos or Rio Grande
Bar, promptly attended to; money collected,
sight drafts on New Orleans for sale. Or-
ders left with Lillard, Mosby & Co, Nos. 28
and 29 New Levee. New Oileans, will meet
with attention.

out his own system of rendering stern justice
to all concerned, those absent as uell as pres-
ent, and on the good faith of which solicits a
continuance of patronage. Advances will be
made if necessary on all merchandise confided
to his care.
Merchants at Point Isabel, Brazos de San-
tiago, and at the mouth of the liver are in-
vited to forward him their disposable goods,
