write every chanqo I get and I want

place fine, wo are about thirty miles
from New YorW, I liko this climate
better than I dd Dear Old Texas. It
is much cooler. I will toll you about
our trip up hert; wo left Fort Worth
July, 10 at 11 a. m. and reached
Sherman in tile afternoon; tno lieu
Cross ladles (met us -with lots of
good things to eat. Our next stop
was at Dcnison and was mot by n
large crowd; it was our last stop in
nonr Old Toxna. Wc crossed Red
River about 5s p. m.. I dont remember
tho name of tlio next stop, but a large
crowd met us to bid tho Texas and
Oklahoma Troops good-bye, till wo
return to the Sunny South. Wo went
through one town and a show was
there; the show girls rode up on their
horses and shok hands with us. Wo
arrived in Mlsouri, July 17, 8: p. m.
it was raining and we wero not met
by a largo crowd as before.
Misouri Is a beautiful state; we ar
rived in III. at G: a. m., July 18, 1918;
our first stop was at Charleston, a
town of about ten thousand popula-
tion, wo then marched down town
and was mot by the Red Cross chap-
ter with fruit and tobacco and other
good things, this is a mo3t beauti-
ful sate; after wo left there wo
eamo into Indiana and we wero never
treated nnv better on our ionrncy
and wc will alwaya remember that
good old state. I forgot to tell you
we came through St. Louis and was
also met by tho Red Cross ladies, it
was at night but we got plenty of
good things to eat; wc crossed the
Mississippi River; Ig ot to see my
first largo ohip. Our next stop was
in Ohio, wc got to Cleveland about
7: a. m. and got breakfast; here wo
tret to see our first Negro- Polico; tho
boys yelled at him until he left, he
did not stay ciose to tne wain iun.
after we loftOhio, we got in Pcnsyl-
vanin, the people treated us good,
but I did not like that state much.
