Lillian, the two year old dau-

Murphroe, pulled a kottle of hot
water off tho stove last Monday,
and had a narrow escape from
being seriously burned. Her
left side was scalded consider-
ably, but not eoriously,
Mr. Jesse Bowden, of Blum,
Texas, has located in Bartlett
and accepted tho position of
office man for Mr. J. D. Slawosn.
Mr. Bowden's family will arrive
here later.
Mr Chas. R. Houston, of Mr
"W. W. Walton's mercantile es-
tablishment received news this
week that his brother Henry, who
is attending a business college in
Dallas, had smallpox, but in a
mild form, and not seriously ill.
