People along the proposed- line
of the electric road even as far
as Florence are enthusiastic.
The general expression is that
they are ready with the right of
way and their money, with a
united people hardly any enter-
prise is impracticable. In union
is strength is universally true.
A united people inspire respecc
and confidence. Outsiders see
ing it, at once admire the condi-
tion bf affairs and feel disposed
to go with their persons, brains,
and money and unite with such
people. - I
It seems that some people will
be hum-bugged in spite of every
thing. They will buy wares
from hawking fakirs who go over
the country from house to house,
rank strangers and generally
they find out only too late that
they paid more for their goods
tha'n they would have had to pay
the home merchants.
The Tribune has recently in-
terviewed a number of its sub-
scribers who live on .the rural
mail route and is glad to note
that they all express themselves
as highly pleased with the sys-
tem, and would not do without
it. It ia ' a great convenience,
and will soon spread . over the
entire country.
The Salado correspondent to
the Bell County Democrat, is re-
sponsible for the following:
"Mrs. Dr. Law and children
with Misses Kate Jarroll and
Catherine Williams, walked from
Belton last Saturday and spent
tho night with relatives here and
then' -walked back to Belton Sunday.
Up to the present time, it ap-
pears that there is not much
probability of a cpnvention to
franie a new Constitution for
Texas, being called. The house
committee on cpnstitutional
amendments has reported -adversely
on the proposition, and a
great many of the legislators
seem to bo of tho opinion . that
the present constitution is good
enough. . , '
