the hospital at Temple last Sat
urday on account of injuries re

Miss Annie Baar left Saturday
afternoon for Belton, where she
will attend a teacher's institute.
From there she will go to Rock-
dale for a brief visit and then go
to the vicinity of Bartlett to take
charge of her school. Weimar

Clarence Gunn came near hap-
ening to a serious accident last
Tuesday while unloading lumber
from a car, he fell a distance of
about ten feet, striking his head
and side against some heavy
things. Fortunately he only sus-
tained some painful bruises no
bones being broken.
The value of advertising is of-
ten clearly demonstrated, in the
Tribune. On last Friday a notice
was put in-the paper by Mr. Joe
Lindsey, of Granger, offering a
reward for a lost bracelet, and
early Saturday morning the lost
article was brought to this office,
and the reward paid. It pays to
advertise.
Fred H. Graves of Rockdale
come over to take a position as
deputy county clerk with J. T,
Kemp on Wednesday. Mr.'
Graves is the son of Mr. F. H.
Graves who died in Rockdale last
year and is one of the finest
young men in our county. We
are glad io welcome him as a cit
izen of our town.-'-Caineron En-
terprise. H, Hempel returned Monday
from Waco where he attended a
meeting of the JBoard of Man-,
agers of the Methodist orphan
age, Bro. Hempel states that the
Home is in a flourishing condition.
There are over 100 children be
ing taken care of, and all in good
health. During tho past seven
years only two deaths have oc
curred in the home, and in one
of those the child was sick when
brought to tho Home, the other
Ibeing caused from drowning
